Seriously, 100,000-200,000 deaths in USA is the number that even trump will admit to. Not definitive of course.
Perhaps P or agip might be slightly useful if they compare/contrast their own predictions, or even when they feel we may reach these numbers, since it’s a breakthrough that fat boy is no longer BS’ing about Easter or hoaxes here.

Concerning the shipping of PPE to China by the Trump administration, I think the criticism is very, very misguided. I read the CNN article and while there are plenty of valid criticisms of Tiny's lies at the time, the central idea that we should not have sent PPE to China is absolutely wrong.
China needed that equipment. That equipment may have saved lives in China and slowed the spread of the virus. Now China is in a position to return the favor and they are starting to do just that. This is how international cooperation is supposed to work and I applaud the Trump administration for abandoning its "America First" policy in this instance.
Agreed.

Disagree, the virus was already in America at the time. A bit of foresight would have seen the imminent crisis at home and kept the supplies.
The facts that a couple of weeks later our own first responders and patients are going without is a disgrace.
There are articles about Trump extending the social distance guidelines, but isn't that 100% at the discretion of the states?

Well, they are guidelines. States can also issue guidelines. States can also issue orders, which I believe the governor of my state is going to do at 2pm.
For all of those, a great deal of the compliance depends on goodwill. Yes, police powers can be used with orders, but that is only effective with relatively high rates of voluntary compliance, as high rates of noncompliance just means there is not enough police power.
So, the guidance matters. More trumpers and trump-state governors are going to go with those guidelines if they have cover. Otherwise there will just be more "Just-the-flu bros"
Why those masks should have stayed in the US.

Here are some quotes from Trump's most recent, high ratings press conference:
Vote-by-mail provisions in the stimulus bill (decades overdue) will keep any ‘pub ever from winning an election, trump says!
Democracy!!!!

a serious country would watch trumps congratulating himself for good ratings while americans were dying and losing their jobs and immediately decide never ever ever to vote for him or his people again.

Yet here we are TODAY. Trump blaming Obama for not leaving enough supplies and Fox News and his supporters eating it up.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-again-blames-obama-leaving-134200410.htmlThe virus was in the US when his administration shipped eight tonnes of supplies to China, now American first responders and patients are going without.
It is a scandal and he’s a conman.

Agree that it is disgraceful.
As I said, there are plenty of valid criticisms of Trump at the time. He should have been invoking the Defense Production Act way back then and started us producing PPE like crazy. Why he still has not done this is beyond me.
But now China is in a position to produce PPE. It is going to be exported somewhere and China decides where it goes. Our nation, who helped China in January and February is now in a position to go to the front of the line.
Trump never gives anything away, even if we already own it & paid for it. Every deal is a chance to line his pockets.

We shipped to China in February, at least three weeks after the virus was already here.
I’m pretty sure China would ship to the US right now solely because of $$$.
Kind of like his tax returns: “When I file taxes, I actually MAKE money.”

All your figures remain speculation. There is no universal testing anywhere and standards vary significantly amongst countries. You are trying to measure a landscape seen through a cloud.
well these are deaths, not testing (except for one stat). So that takes away some vagueness.
But agreed, attributing a cause of death is not an exact science and that may be messing with the data.
but probably if the standards stay the same, changes in data will be meaningful.
What are your mortality percentages obtained from? Previous mortalities, or as a percentage of the figures for infections?

You do realize that the FDA approved Hydroxychloroquine to be prescribed to COVID-19 patients.
Trump wins again.

You mean we would have to outbid the other countries? I'd rather be getting supplies because of goodwill.
And with China's manufacturing power, they are in a position to send us many times what we sent them. That little bit of kindness to China might be the thing that saves us from Tiny's lack of action on producing PPE domestically.
