Good job I said “if true” and didn’t jump two feet in like an idiot, just like you do on a regular basis.

Worldometers just rolled over its data for the day....and honestly the numbers are too good for me to believe them.
I'll put something together in the morning I suppose..but I suspect that government people weren't working on Sunday so they didn't collect and submit data correctly.
For ex, I don't think world deaths fell by 15% Sunday over Saturday or that US deaths fell by half.
Is the weekend data reliable? I wonder if it's underreported on Sunday since less people are working.

It has been unusually volatile on weekends, yes

just checked for myself and the number or new cases in US is down slightly from the day before, maybe 5% by my off the top of my head calculation, but more surprisingly, the number of deaths per day dropped hugely. From 525 to 264. That would be encouraging! Hope its true.
Thanks, kibitzer. It seemed clear you’ve never voted dem, but they all told me I was wrong about that.

This is very obviously a reporting issue. Just one more reason to ignore the single day miracles and focus on the longer term trends.
The fake confidence is all gone Now and the bluster rings painfully hollow.
He just looked frightened, out of his depth and inside he knows it.

He’s an absolute conman and liar.
We’re off the map, Ciro. It’s not whether the US wins or loses, but whether we survive.

This piece of information never reaches the ear of a trumper... and if it does, they choose to process it differently. I guess it’s a hard pill to swallow that America first was just a bunch of steaming bullsh!t.

I think this just broke, hopefully it will get the attention it deserves and some trumpers will see the light, although that’s doubtful.

Very doubtful, I just see them swallowing whatever load he is ready to shoot at them next. And whenever the answer is that trump may not be the holy savior they had in mind they can always point to the deep state democrats in justifying their ongoing support. Common sense and moral codes have left this country long ago.

I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but I don't get the significance of this story. The administration made an announcement when they sent the supplies , so it's not new information. It's already known that he scoffed at early warnings about the virus, so him believing we didn't need the supplies is not surprising.

You seriously don’t get why this is a story?
Ask doctors and nurses on the front lines with inadequate supplies, using the same face mask for five days if this is a story. While our administration sent TONNES of supplies to China.
The virus was already in this country when these supplies were shipped out to China. The President scoffing or underestimating the threat isn’t in of itself a defense for leaving our first responders exposed, if anything that reveal just how out of touch he was with an imminent crisis.

The crime was dismissing the early warnings. We should have started production of supplies at that point, but we didn't. Sending some to China and not ramping up production, are effectively the same thing.
So we agree both were unhelpful.
It’s not an either or situation, it’s further evidence of a botched reaction.
Those supplies could and should have been used by Americans on the front line instead of Chinese.
