You need to really come sit in the front of the class Johnny. It is not about the charity or getting numpties to donate for once in their lives. The charity is the authentication for making a name so that said numpties like you can drink his oat milk like you drink his 'cordial'
The stunt...crazier and rarer the better. Better even if it was last done 30 yrs ago with hand counting.
The goal....go for the moon, tell the idiots you'll break world records
The cause...pick one that people relate to and hasn't had the glamour.
The real cause...speaking engagements, brand ambassadorship, own range of 'health' products...even a TV gig if he can stop swearing.
None of your post negates the fact the charity will still be getting a giant cheque that they wouldn’t otherwise have gotten.
Do you acknowledge that the money raised is helping a good cause? You appear to be struggling to accept this fact.
I don't drink the cordial, or inn this case the oat milk, like you do. You cannot fathom the big picture. Come sit in front of the friggin class and stop playing with yourself
NB is going through a real rough patch now. Any forward movement looks slow and painful. He vomits frequently. Stops after nearly every lap. Two shoe changes in the last 15 minutes. Some people in the TikTok chat concerned about his health, others still asking if he's going to break the record.
At one point this afternoon he had his entire leg taped up after limping off. took it off shortly after. Off to sleep by the looks of things at 9pm.
No-brainer decision to call it quits for the night.
He's just strung together a sequence of three master laps that's slower than anything else he's done in the entire event. No benefit was going to come from staying out any longer tonight.
As he sleeps, the race clock will tick over 10 days, 10 hours, 30 minutes and 35 seconds. The moment signifying Kouros' world record passing both unheralded and unchallenged.
Nedd will wake up in the morning at least 10 days 12 hours into this, with 260km still to run.
Hope he feels better tomorrow. No one wants to see this drag out too long for him.
Mate, stop with this crap, it’s ridiculous. They don’t record him until he does 2 laps in every lane and comes back, you can literally sit there and watch him do it - I have. When you watch him for 3 mins do a slow lap and say - he must be a fraud, you just sound stupid.
When he’s running well, he’s running 6 min kms. There’s usually then 25 minutes of stuffing around a master lap, getting strapping, going to the toilet or walking at a hobble - which gives you a master lap in ~8 minute kms. If you want to talk this dribble then sit on the live feed when he starts a master lap and count. If you turn around and count 28 laps not 30 then you’ve got a leg to stand on, but at the moment you’re just sounding silly.
The best anyones actually been able to claim on this thread is that on the opposite side of the track to the camera, people can absolutey definitely see on their tiny phones that he’s “cutting by a mile”. He may as well do it on both sides if the cameras picking it up anyway - quite the scheme he’s come up with to deceive everyone
He has not been able to run 6min kms for the last 5 days you idiot, look at what his shuffle has been, the same metronomic 7m k's. Add the stops and you just cannot get the master lap rubbish they are serving up, you gullible morons

Is everything alright at home Sammy?
Pretty simple point, if you don’t think he’s doing the laps, count a master lap and let us know… don’t watch one 3 minute lap and a toilet break, extrapolate and say, can’t be possible
It was almost inevitable that another bad patch would come at some point. After Day 7, stringing together 5 really good days to close out the 1000 miles in under 12 days was at best remotely possible, but immensely improbable.
He found a schedule and nailed it consistently on Day 8 and Day 9, even his 3 master laps from 5pm to bedtime last night (the start of Day 10) were consistent with the same period on the last two days. Nedd ran really well for those two-and-a bit-days to keep to the most tenuous possibility of a sub 12 in play as long as did.
But we could see it coming undone from the difficulties he was having from his first full master lap this morning. I called it then that this was going to be a difficult day for Nedd.
Hopefully it is only another black patch, and he feels somewhat better after some getting in some food and some sleep tonight.
I mentioned last night that the ridiculously hyped attempt at the "track record" of 11 days 14 hours was already impossibly out of reach. We can now kiss goodbye a finish under 12 Days.
Fans who want to be there for finish might want to keep their calendars clear for Wednesday. This could get very ugly yet.
By ridiculously hyped I'm sure you mean briefly mentioned as a target as that is in fact the extent of the "hype"
Once again, no one really cares about a record, or when, or even if, he finishes. They're just enjoying the spectacle. It would be cool if he could get one, but it doesn't matter to most people watching this
Bullsh1t!
Every bit of marketing for this run was leveraged around Nedd attempting to break Kouros' world record. And that was 100% hype and it was a ridiculous proposition.
At this point, you're certainly correct that no one does care if Nedd is napping while Yiannis' record ticks over, and I'm sure it will have little bearing on the donations which roll in. I'm also sure some on tiktok will still be asking tomorrow is he can still break the record.
His primary goal time goal in finishing will increasingly focus on a time of day when he can attract supporters and media to the stadium. It's likely a family-friendly finish time will be announced when Nedd's within the final 50 miles.
He'll need a second wind (or 12th wind) to finish on Tuesday.
As soon as they announced that, it was already obvious they'd need the venue longer. His odds of finishing by 5pm Tuesday (12 days) were already almost certainly derailed last Thursday. On Thursday morning with how Nedd was faring, they could've foreseen that Tuesday wouldn't be enough. The numbers just weren't adding up.
The venue will still be use for a few hours after he finishes too. It's not like he'll cross the finish line and everyone will just disappear.
They'll be celebrations, media, etc before clearing out the public. Then packing up and moving out the race infrastructure and personal gear. All that is part of the venue use too.
Though Nedd will have the venue as long as he needs it. No way SOPAC are going to send him packing with 100km to run. That would be really sh1tty.

I assume it just doesn’t play well to announce “we’ve got the venue to Friday”, it makes more sense to say Tuesday even though he’ll need longer. Olympic park would’ve already said tracks yours as long as you need so it’s just a PR exercise
I've been running ultras since 1987 and followed the sport for over 40 years. In that time, I've also crewed many runners, volunteered at races for days on end including flying interstate on numerous occasions to do so, been a committee member and national selector, a long-time race director and a consistent advocate for the sport. Pretty much all these have been at expense to me and with a motivation to make the sport better for all involved.
That's an impressive ultra career especially if you are still running them. I've been in it since 1996 and see very few still around from the early days. The sport has changed quite a bit.
But it’s not discussing NBs running. It’s making false unsubstantiated claims about NBs running in a weak attempt to discredit him. He attempted the record. He fell short. But not short enough to claim that he is a fraud. It was a noble attempt for an ultra runner with little credentials. One that anyone on this forum likely could not do.
You'd be surprised at the number of runners that could have a crack at this . If all the numbers can be properly verified then neds effort is very good but not super human . It's just that it's not a distance that is raced often so it's not as competitive
To 225runner: "He attempted the record" is false. To attempt means to follow rules that make the record certifiable. That was never done. And that really matters:
1 - These are not race conditions. In some ways race conditions help give competition, but on the net they can hurt. Having to constantly go around people and spend energy talking and acknowledging is part of racing.
2 - Having consistent pacers as needed is not normal. Pacing happens but this style is excessive and could very possibly involve muling as well.
3 - The distance is not easily verifiable and has no credible certifier. If you disagree I am not going to go into details unless you have read the other comments on this and appear to be serious.
4 - Most importantly the medical aid is highly suspect. The thing you need more than anything in races like this is miracle cures. Those exist and are illegal.
These infractions add up to a ton of time/distance benefit. No sense weathering a guess but he would fare much worse of a time if he gave an actual 1000M race a try.
On Strong arms comment, I would be someone who could have a crack at it. I would definitely not hit NBs numbers but I also would not be breaking the rules. Best guess I would be in the 13 to 16 day range depending on how much I care.
The longer the distance, the greater impact of shoe technology. Today we a woman runs 2:09 at Chicago.
Yiannis Kouros records will eventually all be beaten, but he'll eternally remain in the GOAT debate.
The 2:09 today at Chicago wasn't about the shoes......that was a clear case of PED use. I won't even require a PED test for Chepngetich as proof, just ban her

Did you notice the straightforward timing? Mileage and run time published all the time. What a concept!
