Advocates who are truly concerned about AAPI admissions at Harvard would probably be trying to exclude personal ratings as a factor Harvard can consider, but instead these white conservative lawyers are trying to exclude racial background—by which they mean a Black racial background—as a factor Harvard can consider. To put this nonsense more starkly: After the conservatives win, Harvard will not be allowed to consider an applicant’s race but will be allowed to consider an applicant’s personal rating. The very process that we know is hurting AAPI applicants at Harvard will be allowed to continue, while the process that has nothing to do with AAPI students will be ruled unconstitutional. This is what happens when you let white conservatives carpetbag an issue of minority representation: You get a solution that is good for white people and useless for everybody else.
We get it! You have a victim complex related to your race and you don't believe you and other members of your race can compete without special privileges. Your low self-esteem causes you to believe that you won't be able to succeed based on the same standards as white people, because YOU believe you are inferior. This self-hatred is projected as resentment towards white people. What you want is a solution that is good for YOU (affirmative action) and useless for everybody else. Your seething screeds make this painfully obvious.
Where did he say he was a victim and felt inferior? He didn't say or imply that. He stated facts about the Affirmative Action case. Self hatred....only you said that. In the North Carolina case, Patrick Strawbridge, the white attorney making the case on behalf of the AAPI students, barely even mentioned them. Strawbridge offered arguments about how racial preferences helped Black students get into UNC, but he said nothing about how eliminating those racial preferences would help AAPI students. Indeed, he couldn’t make such an argument, because none exists. Ryan Park, the solicitor general of North Carolina (whose parents come from South Korea), pointed out that UNC actually admits AAPI students at a higher rate than African American students, which he called a “peculiar result” for those who think that the university’s race-conscious admissions program benefits black kids to the determinant of AAPI kids. Neither Strawbridge nor any of the conservative justices on the Supreme Court had an answer for this. They just moved on like the raw facts didn’t matter.
Again, that has to do with race. Because this is a race based case.

Not surprising since they can pay for an army of $100+ per hour tutors to help them prep for tests and to help tutor them their whole lives. Color me unimpressed. Give me an 'uncoached' kis with lower but good scores any day who is more likely to sue their degree to do something meaningful other than continue to pursue ways of bring real change to their communities instead of shooting to earn gobs of $$ and maintain the advantages enjoyed by their ancestors for generations.

The high school teachers are under way too much pressure to help little Johnny get into whatever school and the grade inflation is so rampant that we have no idea what a GPA is worth any more (and this is more so at the private schools).

I'm on the other side of the problem you're raising, I'm a high school teacher of 30 years, but you are so right. The academic standards are slipping like crazy and while even at the beginning of my career it took a lot for a student to fail a grade and have to repeat, this is almost unheard of now. There is an unofficial policy or maybe just a general belief that we have to just keep pushing kids to the next grade and hope the truly disinterested kids drop out of their own accord, rather than hold anyone truly accountable. We teachers deserve some blame for that but the general policy comes from administration as well. But the never-fail-a-kid starting point, the problem is that if you're giving a kid who does F work, or no work at all, a C- so he can move up next year, you then in fairness have to give the kids who do C- work a B-, B work gets you an A, and actual A work that would get you a 4.0 before now can get you a 4.5. You couldn't go over 4.0 for GPA when I started but now my school actually lets people go beyond 4.0. Grade inflation, absolutely!

If the amount of blacks and Hispanics doesn't immediately drop to about 1 and 3% respectively at top colleges - which we all know it won't - colleges won't have followed it. These numbers are pulled from their own research, that shows it'd be about 50% Asian, 45% white, 5% other if nothing other than merit were considered
