how is this wrong in any way?
P admitted at one point his prediction that there was zero chance we would not all be walking around with gas masks in a post-apocalyptic nightmare wasn't necessarily a guarantee.
P has been posting up numbers daily and commenting that there is some positive stuff there.
My debate with him on this post was that P was 100% guaranteeing massive death rates. And we've seen nowhere that has happened. Asia formed a curve and Italy seems to be topping out.
I mean we'll see, but his guarantee was out of line and not scientific.
Sorry agip. I love you, dude. But I can't let you get away with falsehoods about what I have been representing from the start. Here, let me help you out with things I have and have not been representing from the start.
1). I NEVER guaranteed massive death rates. NEVER.
2). I ALWAYS stated that the notion of "hot spots" was silly. Unless you simply define hot spots as places that got started 3 weeks earlier than some alternative place and where they were late on getting serious on fighting this thing. In that case, of course such places exist and find themselves in deep sh!t.
3). I NEVER claimed that fatality rates would be the same everywhere. Heck, they are not even defined in the same way everywhere.
4). I ALWAYS claimed that we were all on the same curve UNTIL THE POINT WHERE THE AUTHORITIES TOOK DECISIVE ACTION TO GET OFF THE CURVE.
5). I have repeatedly tried to point out the implications of the exponential nature of this thing. Many have a very hard time "getting" this.
6). I have ALWAYS pointed out that looking at individual days or individual countries is an exercise in self deception.
7). i have strongly advocated for full scale war on this thing - the sooner, the better, both in terms of deaths and in terms of economic damage.
8). I have ALWAYS pointed out that every nation is destined to "get off the curve". It is only a question of how, when and at what cost.
Please do not misrepresent me again.
Thanking you in advance.
