Yesterday's MedCram video was really interesting. MedCram is a collection of videos that seems to be aimed at med students. However, the doctor who produces them has been doing a daily series on the coronavirus outbreak since it first started in China.
Anyhow, yesterday's video was about the latest research into immunity. He also gave lots of background on how testing works and PCR testing vs. antibody testing.
On the positive side, tests on monkeys suggests that once you've had COVID-19 you won't get it again (at least not right away). This has been an open question, so that research is some good news.
Something I didn't realize is that the initial (PCR) testing that is widely done is also widely inaccurate. The test gives false negatives 30% to 40% of the time. So a negative test does not mean you are in the clear.

We do have time to avoid the deaths/population Italy has right now. That's a positive. We can still make a huge difference.
But if we don't take the necessary steps, the raw number of dead in this country will be staggering.
This is the good news....even the week we have remaining will make a huge difference as hospitals know exactly what is coming.
and if italy and maybe spain goes down the backside of the curve, that will give healthcare workers hope and make it easier to work so hard.

And since this thread is about the orange one it's safe to say that he will be at least partially to blame for lack of preparedness... daily press conferences point to him still living in the clouds even now.
Plus he barred Fauci & lied about the reason.
Trump is a very dangerous individual. He is throwing out reckless suggestions in these daily conferences and to his crack team. Now that he floated the idea of lifting the social distancing guidelines, the market jumped this morning which will serve as reinforcement for him that this is the way to go. It would be wildly stupid for him to disregard expert guidance for the sake of seeing a temporary jump in the mkts, only for the economic fallout from new infections and prolonged damage control to be that much worse in the long run.

He doesn't give a crap about anyone other than himself. As he hasn't actually closed anything (that has been local governments including governors), he doesn't have any power to reopen anything, but since he does have a megaphone to the dumbest Americans, they will heed his call, believe it is anti-Democrat to go gather somewhere, and they will quicken the spread. It is all ridiculous. We have people in this country listening to a damn fool rather than take the advice of doctors and medical experts.
You Trumpers are just outrageously stupid.
Welp, there it is: The Gap is down to 7.3.

Trumpanzee.
Dude, anyone can read your “Dr. Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” routine on the liner notes to Purple Rain.

I've been following that too. Quite interesting.
Who are these people who are taking cruises during a pandemic?

How little you know me. I'm a Never Trumper.
But I also think it's important to keep up with the news--including news that doesn't make me feel good about things.

I've never been so upset to see the market going up. The stock I bought when the market tanked is now up 20%, and I'm really mad about it.
People over profits.
Liar, I’ve seen you post obvious lies & blind optimism. “Let’s all go for a walk,” “ridership on NYC subway hasn’t been affected...” etc.

Virus, like influenza, mutate into new strains. Coronavirus works the same way, that is why it has an ID #. Flu shots are updated regularly to adjust for the new strains. So, you will become immune. You will need to get virus shots every year. And research labs will need to work on updating vaccines every year.
The issue with coronaviruses is that they will live dormant in your lungs, and they have the ability to multiple very rapidly. Before you know it, you may have breathing problems, as well as rapid loss of smell and taste, that require hospitalization. Ventilators are required for recovery because of a loss of lung capacity; you can't breath.

Trump favorite poll, because it leans right, Rasmussen shows -6% approval for Trump. It is better to look at the underlying data to see what is happening; Rasmussen has a -9% "strong" approval gap for Trump.
Meanwhile: the YouGov poll shows (p. 2 of the second link below) Trump with a strong approval percentage of 44% ONLY for people over age 65. He is -13% for people age 30-44, and -21% for people age 18-29. What this poll's information tells you is that Trump's base is a dead end.

Huge, doomed gamble with our lives.
Kibitzer happily predicted restrictions in NY would be lifted at least a week before Easter, but the Pope has closed every church in Italy, Church of England likewise shut, including private prayer.
Cuomo in fact said the rate of infection is doubling every 3 days, while trump cancelled the Coronavirus Task Force press conference that he kept screwing up.

Is that all you have, Flagpole? To keep calling those who disagree with reversing the election "outrageously stupid?" You have been using that term for years now. Just like the phrase: "Mueller is coming and the clown is done." Whatever happened to that? Of course, nothing. You said that Trump would be removed from office. He is still presiding in Oval Office. You said he would not win the election - he won. You said that ... blah, blah, blah - do you EVER get tired of being wrong? Seriously? Do you ever get tired of being wrong. You are wrong adinfinitum. I know you have no idea what the word means - but it means time and time and time again. What a clown.
