the scariest part is that ultimately the states are going to have to be bailed out. They are going to spend billions while losing billions of taxes. I would not want to be a pensioner in a state right now. Or any state employee...mass firings of state employees are coming.

The feds can print money...the states cannot.

Interesting. New legislation makes allowances for increased spending by states, and a third relief bill is being negotiated. I can only hope it will prioritize budgeting for healthcare, since businesses are less critical.

Other countries are freezing essential-service shutoffs & evictions. Debts may have to be temporarily frozen, since everyone is equally affected. Creditors are debtors as well.

it's a huge problem...a landlord who stops getting rent still has to pay her mortgage. And a bank that does not get mortgage payments goes out of business. It's a long chain that will unravel. The definition of a financial crisis.

Only the federal government can print money and oh boy will they.
