Bush’s botched initial response to Katrina in 2005 is seen as one of the low points of his presidency. Many storm survivors had to wait days for assistance as the federal government struggled to organize a recovery effort.

The government of course can help out. But should not the onus be on the individual states? Again, their economy is the 5th largest in the world. Why are they not prepared for this? Why do their hospitals and health care facilities have ventilators and masks and everything else? California has what - 40 million? Why was the governor and individual mayors not prepared for this?
Sanctuary cities, welcoming millions of illegals and paying pooper scoopers $80K is coming back to haunt Californians. So too are the outrageous taxes burdening the taxpayers there.
