You are so focused on the # of deaths attributed to CV.
And it is a pandemic because it is wide spread and not concentrated in one area. There is no safe state to go to.
The issue is the hospitals, doctors and medical centers are under strain right now.
They have been near capacity before this and now there is more of a strain with people infected or even thinking they may be infected and going to get looked at.
You don't need people dying all over the place to see the system is strained and can't handle more.
That's the reason for the shutdowns.
You can argue the death rate is small all day long, but realize the situation we're in and what we have to face going forward.
Most things have only been closed for tow days and feels like a month.
It's going to stretch out for a long time and the worldwide pain is going to be bad.
Trump is doing better right now at messaging, I'll admit.
But there is a rough road ahead.
