You continue to have problems with the concept of time. Here, start with this, repeat the following over and over until you get it:
"1 million US deaths in total is NOT the same thing as 1 million US deaths by April."

We are at 1033 new cases so far today. That compares to 983 cases yesterday. This is the first time we have topped the previous day's total so early in the day.
I suspect that the rise is due to more testing. I wouldn't be surprised to see that number to grow to more than 2000 new cases today and 3000 tomorrow. As mass testing finally comes on line we will finally see the extent of the damage.
Right now it's hard to ascribe much meaning to the numbers, but hopefully that will change.

Case stats are interesting but they won't have any hard scientific meaning until mass testing happens, usually after the epidemic.
I'm focusing on death counts because they reflect on the ground facts better.
