I think sally can’t tell viruses apart.

A virus is less than a single cell that exists only to plague complete organisms. Not to be confused with trump.

Agip, you are probably too young to remember (half jokingly) but even with 61 Million Americans getting the swine flu NOTHING was shut down. No major sporting events were canceled. No sports seasons were canceled. Why is the response to the CV so different than to how we treated the swine flu? Is it because of Trump?

Dude - come on. 1700 cases of CV so far and 61 MILLION cases of the swine flu. Which is larger - 1700 or 61 Million. I think you can even figure that out.

Nobody is blaming Trump for an act of nature. They are blaming him for being indifferent to its effect on the citizenry as he is with most anything except in the context of how it reflects on his personal glory. The same reason he has been despised by a large portion of the citizenry since he took office. He's a narcissist and unfit for office. You know it and I know it.

The great tragedy is that it took over three years and a potential catastrophe for his enablers to be forced to admit this, if in fact they do.

You make some valid points - but let's take Trump out of the equation for a bit. His main duty is calming Americans. Everyone with the CDC and every other American organization whose responsibility is to address such a calamity like this should have already been doing such. Trump doesn't need to babysit them. They are being paid good money to handle a pandemic such as this. Trump is just a figurehead for the most part.

A public health emergency was declared before there was a single death from the swine flu. Simply put, Obama was more aggressive and proactive in dealing with the swine flu than Trump has been with the corona virus. That's because Obama is smarter and more competent, and didn't waste time denying it was a problem or blaming others. If Trump had been in office when the swine flu hit, the numbers most certainly would have been worse than what they were.

So why the difference? Why has WHO and CDC offered different guidance? Have they?

My guess is because COVID-19 is NOT the seasonal flu and instead is a strain of SARS. NOT the flu.

Well, Trump is obviously failing at calming Americans. And he has undermined the government's ability to fight this pandemic.
