Weis Can. Reagan won't.

This is bit much really; Weiss’s 10k PR on the track only puts him through in 23:30. Reagan is nowhere near that. Weis is a beast and will run that but not until next year.

This is truly doubtful. What makes you think the Geddis and Blauman, both with 5k track PR's in the 14:40's, are going to be able to run with the guys from Edinboro, Pinto, Cummings and Pearson? And exactly what credentials does their 5th man have to lead you to believe he can run under 25 on any course?

SRU is good but not even near Edinboro.

What I am anxious to see is how the Rock responds to the Boro taking the PSAC and Regional races out -- fast. It always amazes me how year after year, Boro surprises teams with a fast start. There have been a good number of years where Ship (on paper) was better than the Boro. But, Boro would come out blazing, take the race out hard, and the Ship guys would start making up ground the second half of the race...but NEVER enough to beat Boro.

There are very few cross races won in the first two miles (lots lost, but few won). However, I believe that this year the race b/w Rock and Boro will be won in the first two miles. I'm anxious to see what Rock's #4 and #5 do over this span...

...but, what the heck do I know...

...now, with all of that said, I love the fact that the PSAC has two legitimate top-7 teams again. It's been a while. In terms of who wins psac's and conference -- doesn't really matter to me. It sure will be fun to watch...but, I'm guessing it be even more fun to be running.

In response to the rankings:

I agree with the top 3. However i am not sure what validated moving mansfield into the number 4 spot in the region. They were blown out by mount union, 22nd in the nation d3, and only bested ESU by 15 points down in maryland. An ESU squad that at the moment is not ranked regionally. Hard to believe that actually would move you up in the rankings.

Cummings appears to be fit though, heard it through the grape vine he tore off a 4:40 last mile.

Well, if you look at how Salisbury scored the points, they only did top 5. If you include 6 and 7, ESU was much further back than it looks. And, it's 25 points, not 15 (60-85).

Mans 1,5,17,18,24, 26,31

ESU 2,15,22,23,35, 42,44

Yeah, and by the looks of that score, their 7th guy came in before ESU's 5th.

the 2-3 for Slippery Rock are faster than you are giving credit. Regan is a 14:28 guy and Geddis is in the high 14:40's. still, how can you say they couldn't run with Edinboro, when Edinboro never gives anyone a chance to, epsecially in track (and i don't care how much snow they get, it snows here too) and #2 those kinds of track times often translate to 8k times in that range that the other poster suggested they'd run . Let's not forget Weiss (not that you would) run's 14:04 Also, last i checked Pearson, while certainly on track for a good season hasn't done what the Rock's 2-3 has done in terms of track times. So before the mystical Edinboro gets more credit than they deserve for a race run on some pancake mid-west course, let's realize what some of you are saying about a team that is going to be pretty damn good.

Two things...

1) Edinboro for whatever reason has struggled on the track the past two years but are traditinonally very good in track in the distances...so give the boro more credit than saying "Edinboro never gives anyone a chance to, especially in track" Whatever that was supposed to mean.

2) Yes the weather is bad every year during the winter in the boro but that has not stopped decades of boro runners from running well...despite the weak excuses that one idiot posted on this board (Macabe or whatever his name was). Most REAL boro runners dont use that as an excuse.

Looks like Slippery rock and Edinboro both have pretty good teams and this will make for an exciting finish to the season.

Mansfield is not as good as their ranking. PSACs and regionals will show that.

I understand your point on Lock Haven. However they still have yet to race with their entire squad at the same meet.

Actually You are mistaken they do have 7 in the scoring at both conference and regionals.

oh and in response to your point on ESU, I do believe that ESU should be in the top 10. They are very young and seem to be improving rapidly from meet to meet. I actually underestimated them in my first ranking before the season started. At this point i would have them ahead of Millersville and Kutztown.

That still does not change the fact that mansfield is not top 4. Provided everyone is healthy, Shippensburg will finish 4th.

I think he is saying 7 run and in the case you pointed out of ESU VS Mansfield, Mansfield's 7th was in before ESU's 5th. THe dual score was 21-39 so it wasn't really close.
