This is incredible, I don't know if Kipchoge can equal it, but if he can he must do it soon as age is catching up to him. I think Kipchoge will regain the world record, but it has to be within a small window of time, maybe a year or so.

Berlin has to be a minute faster than Chicago.
Berlin is flat but not pancake flat. I think the elevation gain in Chicago is just a few meters more than in Berlin. I don't think the difference is more than 15 seconds, given the weather in Chicago is good.

As far as the American woman medaling at the Paris.
No chance.
The african women have already broken 211 in the marathon. And are running just as fast if not faster than some top male American marathoners.
225 was good enough a decade ago. Now 225 is only good for top 25 or so. Not good enough to win let alone medal.

Africans have been far superior for ages yet American men medaled in 2004 and 2016 and have had a bunch of other top 10 finishes. 2:10:00 has medaled in almost every Olympic marathon

i don’t think Kipchoge will get the record back with the Olympics next year , age is catching up to him . He’s looking like the Silver medalist next year. Kiptum looks too tough over the second half .

Anyone know the background story for the new Nike singlets everyone wore today?
Pretty “complex” in terms of design, especially for a Nike singlet. I wonder if the super over the top/complicated design is Nike’s effort to deter the counterfeit singlets which are everywhere nowadays. Much harder to fake a singlet like that.
