Boys AAA individual all-state predictions
1. Nick Gilles. Bounced back at sections after having issues earlier in the season. Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes back to back.
2. Sam Scott. Won the sections and could challenge for a state title and go back to back next year.
3. Andrew Casey. Wasn’t challenged at conference or sections. But beat Sam Scott once. Will try to finish as high as possible to help his team bring home the state title.
4. Aidan Jones. Took down Scott once at conference. Couldn’t do the same at sections
5. Hamza Mohamed. Got a surprise win over Gilles once. Will make the most of his last MSHSL race as the only senior on the team.
6. Noah Breker. Has been running on an Alter G. Got beat by Hamza at sections. Not sure if he has time to fully recover for state.
7. Adam Lueth. Ran a 15:31 at sections without competition. Has finished high in every meet, and won many. Like Hamza, he will make the most of his last MSHSL race as the only senior on the team.
8. Nolan Sutter. Great race at sections and won conference. Has had many high finishes. He should be up here.
9. Daniel McCollor. Has a habit of closing the gap on Hamza in the last few races. Looking to continue to do the same.
10. Elliott McArthur. Former top 8th and 9th grader in the state. Has been surpassed in his class, but his conference and section victory showed that he can finish his HS XC career on the podium.
11. Will Weber. Was not far behind McCollor at sections. Gap among the top 3 Trojans continues to close.
12. Robert Mechura. Has constantly been finishing close to Elliott, so he is looking to do the same here.
13. Cade Sanvik. Was able to beat some high level competition. Running in the 15:40s multiple times.
14. Caleb Dickel. Another sophomore phenom. Really elevated his talent level at Victoria Lions. Will try to score low points to help his team do well here since Washburn doesn’t go to state often.
15. Suhayb Ali. Has stepped up this year and became the #1 guy on Hopkins
16. Gannon Farrens. Another soph phenom. Made the varsity team for Maple Grove as a 7th grader when they went to state. In his 4th year on the team he can do more than just qualify for state. He can finish all-state.
17. Max Westerlund. Third at sections. Solid #2 on the team.
18. Hootie Hage. This guy finished in the top 10 for 2 years. Could possibly surprise with another top 10 finish, but his results haven’t directly shown that he can this year.
19. Landon Hering. Bounced back at sections after a couple of subpar races.
20. Tyler Kissell. Stepped up from the beginning of the season. Not sure how well he can close the gap on Weber here.
21. Luke Williams. Team isn’t going to state but he won a tough section so he can finish up here
22. Ryan Mulrooney. Stepped up huge at conference and got second place. Not sure if he can replicate that here, especially after seeing where he finished on the team at sections.
23. Bryce Stachewicz. Rebounded at sections after a disappointing performance at conference
24. Ethan Starfield. Beat Hootie Hage at conference. Probably not his best race at sections.
25. Will Harder. Looking to be one of the guys on the team in the top 25 to help his team possibly win state or at least make the podium.
