I'll note that you have to go back 78 years to even have a candidate for a leftist president. And also note that the only reason FDR was elected was because Southern racists were still Democrats back then and FDR promised them not to push for civil rights or voting rights for African American citizens. You want to call that a leftist president?
Nixon was loathed by the left more than just about any other president other than Reagan or Trump. You want to pick one or two policies? It doesn't pass the giggle test.

but for the record, trump has said both that he would cut and not cut SS. That's how he rolls.

Nixon continued the war in Vietnam, Reagan took on "The Evil Empire" in Afghanistan and Nicaragua, and invaded Grenada, while Bush Snr went to war against Saddam that was later finished by Bush Jnr. Republicans have never shied away from a good stoush or round of bombing.
No one knows what leftists would do in the US because they have never been voted in.
