we'd all be dead already if they did.
So, you are saying that no virus ever hits 50% of the population? If so, anything to back that up?
Just as an example - smallpox is estimated to have killed 60% - 90% of several large native American societies. COVID-19 is not nearly as lethal. But I see no evidence to support your claim that we cannot reach 50% contraction rates.

A lot of people get the flu and no one ever hears about it. Some people might sneeze some, others might feel a little tired . . .. people like this might not realize they ever got the flu.
In the case of coronavirus there is no antidote. It's like getting the flu and not being able to take anything for it, and having to ride it out on your own.
Coronavirus is nothing to worry about, according to Trump, has him a full-blown panic mode. He might ban journalist (non loyalist) from flying on Air Force One.
He has not plans to stop having rallies and touch hands with his fans. But infected journalist are a big issue for him.
new trump vs. dems polls have Biden 10 points over the guy who steals money from charities.
and that's before this virus hellscape.
should be a 40 point gap, but muh guns.
And the senate is very very much in play.
Rather then vote for Trump in their primary republicans in Maine where 20% of them voted for blank.

Incorrect - you can treat the symptoms very effectively unless you have a super weak immune system or severe respiratory issues. One of the main issues is that it's a brand new virus so everyone is exposed as no one's immune system has had a chance to build resistance (no shot and no prior exposure). Yes you have to ride it out but it's 2020, there are ways to deal with the symptoms... I guess if you are an uninsured American you might be in financial trouble though if you need hospital care.
Wall St. closes with a nice, orderly collapse.
They’re so cute the way they act like trump is completely normal.

Riding it out is not a treatment method.
Most virus have treatments that can save lives.
Not true for coronavirus. You are on your own.
That is the difference between this and other virus, and that is why the death rate is higher.

What do you call prescription painkillers and going to the emergency room? That's not riding it out.
That's a partial answer on the higher death rate. The other is that we don't know the actual number of people infected, which presumably is much higher resulting in a bigger denominator. I'm not trying to lessen the severity of the virus here, but the potential spread is a much bigger problem than the actual death rate - can't have everyone drawing down medical supplies and going to hospitals at same time.
Just injecting some common sense here.

Those are not cures for this virus. They are parts of riding it out.
You’ve got admire how Trump crossed the political divide and formed an alliance with the Kushner’s.

Conmen, all of them.
Looks like Matt Gaetz forgot to wear his gas mask.
This is what passes for leadership in the current Trump party, a bunch of obnoxious circus clowns.
Add: before he quarantined himself, Matt Gaetz followed Trump on to Air Force One.

Desperately ill prepared and ignored repeated warnings, Trump has now been caught with his pants down, it’s not an impressive look for him or the administration.

Now rather than deal with issue they’re trying to hide all negative information, other regimes do that, I expected better in the US.

That's what the flu virus did in 1918. 50 million died world wide. COVID-19 is now becoming a pandemic. It has a 3% mortality rate, according to the WHO.
