The common flu has an R0 number of 1.3 (1.3 people become infected for every 10 that are already infected) and has a lethality rate of about 0.1%. The coronavirus looks to have an R0 number or 2.0 and lethality rate of 2-3%. If this kills 20-30 times as many infected people and it’s infecting more people per infected person than the common flu, then it is a serious cause for concern.
