He's been at it from day 1.. all resources, effort and attention should be devoted to the states whose voters worship him. I told you guys he assigned Pence just to be the fall guy, which probably means trump will continue to work against efforts to curb the virus. Does anyone really think he cares about people getting sick or dying? The reason a Fed rate cut would not be particularly effective is that this financial problem is NOT the same as the one in 2008.

In 2008 et seq. the problem was mostly on the demand side: People/businesses were reluctant (or simply found it difficult) to spend. Easy (low-interest) money helps offset such reluctance.

In 2020, the problem is mostly on the supply side: No matter how "cheap" money gets, people and businesses are not going to be able to get stuff with it. A Fed cut doesn't mean that raw materials and components that were previously arriving slowly (or not at all) will suddenly be back on schedule.

Good point. As long as we confine ourselves to purely financial options and don’t consider people, the Fed is useless.

Democracy Now reports that every country is months ahead of us on testing. CDC is withholding testing numbers, claiming it’s up to the states to report.

As of this morning, USA has tested, in total, 500 people. S. Korea is testing 10,000 a day.
