Philly is providing very little value to anyone. She only provides a bad attitude which brings running down. She has the typical lefty, liberal attitude that she has the right idea and anyone else is wrong.
The fact she considers herself a pro is a joke. She was gifted an elite start at London this year, which the organisers most likely did because of her profile. But other than that, she is currently only scraping into sub-elite territory. She hasn't ran for more than time than her injury should take to recover from and now she is doing hit pieces on actual runners who are putting it on the line?
She is perhaps the most insufferable person in the running world and that is saying a lot.
Completely agree with this she is an insufferable, miserable person. Not sure how anybody has downvoted this comment as it is spot on.

Sorry but lets not get confused, you can be both really annoying on the internet and an elite level runner. Her content should not take away from that fact, however I do agree it has been pretty dire of late.
To remind you, her PB of 2:25:47 is 10.54% slower than the (legit) womens world record of 2:11:53. The equivalent on the mens side would be a 2:13:18, which is faster than any of the non-pro men we discuss here.
It feels slightly unfair to compare her with the best East-Africans on the planet though. The current best active British marathoner Cali Thackery, has a marathon PB of 2:21:24. Phily's time is 3.1% slower (ran on the same day, in the same race, so very fair comparison). Thats the equivalent of a British man running 2:10:34, 3.1% slower than Alex Yees time from yesterday.
If anything, shes in a bit of a grey zone between true elites and the sub-elites, but I'd argue that she deserves her spot in an elite field - not everyone is going to be in the front pack.

Its ok and normal to put her in an elite field in your home country. Like given us tennisplayers wildcards at the us open or people from your own country fieldspots in winter sports and so on. Nobody would say that this is wrong.
interesting insta post shared by RTJ from tracx.events - The Most followed Athletes on the Valencia Marathon app:
1. Alex Yee 10727 followers
2. Jake Barraclough 7579 followers
3. John Korir 5312 followers
4. Sisay Lemma 4991 followers
5. Nick Bester 4423 followers
He also shared a vid from Bester showing himself in a completely disorientated state at about 30k. If it were me, I would 100% of stopped and got him medical attention - he's clearly in all kinds of trouble. Bester however runs on.
Appears she's A/B testing the video titles for whatever reason.
She's done this forever, I think they test the water with a more controversial title to drive clicks (and maybe LetsRun outrage!) then swap it out for something more vanilla afterwards. I get that that's the game the algorithm wants you to play, but it's pretty childish.
Wow my opinion of Bester has completely changed, not only did he run 2:27 after being in a near death explosion but he also sacrificed his PB to stop and help RTJ who was in a world of trouble. What an absolute gentleman and amazing that he caught all his heroics on camera!!
Outstanding performance from our Nick, given the utterly torrid heat, and with his huge frame and adonis-like physique he would have been absorbing much more of the sun than the underlings around him he was selflesssly protecting. At the finish he really should have been wheeled out to acknowledge his fans in a ceremonial chariot like C3PO by the (Best Athletic full kit wearing) Ewoks

After the point in the race where he claims he's "called it" too, so it's not like it's even impacting a result he cares about. Just stop for 10 secs my man.
Also funny that since moaning about not being given an elite place at London he's averaged 2:27, pretty poor return for someone who effectively trains full time.
All jokes aside that's actually a class act from Nick Bester in the scary RTJ video.
He did slow down for a few seconds, so fair play. There was not much he could have done to help, but at least he checked.
Odd thing about bester, is he breezed round a training run in sub 2.30 in Cyprus before London. Since, he's struggled to repeat the same in race conditions.

lmao wow. ya that yaseen video was certainly entertaining but a bit too much. I actually like the guy and have watch his videos on and off for a couple years. He definitely has always had the same mindset and attitude that he’s giving off in the newest video, but I’ve never seen him that blatantly unhinged. I wonder if he’s acting for the camera a bit to make this his persona to followers and attract a certain kind of audience that really feeds off the rebel/machoistic vibe…or if I’m screaming to himself in his car is all truly genuine lmao.
Kid is talented and I’m really excited to see his performances next year. Idk if I can stomach the videos if he’s gonna act this crazy in them though. He probably needs to dial it back a bit since it does come off as very off the rails..but maybe this is really who he is and he doesn’t care if he’s being himself.
I do wonder if he will sign end up signing a contract with any bigger brand if any offer him something, because he basically is saying he’s against that in this video lol. But I have to imagine he’s barely scraping by right now with no normal working job or shoe sponsors. I think bandit is helping him out which is cool but I’m sure that’s only gear and no money.
Where does our Nick go from here? The last two A-race marathons have been 2:27, looks like he is regressing,
Does he accept the sub 2:20 was a one-off and do more click-bait style content (what the heck was the trip to Ethiopia about a couple of weeks before Valencia)? Sack his coach and ask Sirpoc to coach him?
