Division races to Masters Meet -- Going from this Saturday's division races to the following week's Southern Section ("SS") Master meet each of the 4 division winners plus the next 14 fastest runners across the 4 divisions advance to the masters meet for a total of 18 entries per event. At the SS Masters meet there are 2 races for all events up to 400 meters. At the SS Masters meet, for the 800m and longer races all 18 entries race in a single race. At this weekend's division races all races are run separately by division except for the 3200 where D1 and D4 run a combined race with distinct D1 and D4 winners. Same for a combined 3200 with D2 and D3. My understanding is that the 18 entries to the SS Masters meet is a new thing for 2025 -- I think it was previously 9?
Southern Section Masters Meet to California CIF State Meet -- Going from the SS Masters meet to the state meet, the top 6 finishers at the Masters meet advance to the State meet regardless as to finishing time. Should any runner outside the top 6 obtain the CIF statewide qualifying standard at the Masters Meet they too advance to the State Meet. I've listed the statewide standards below.
