Great race, so much more exciting than the flat time trials! Absolutely ridiculous that Tola wasn’t selected in the first place after winning NY marathon. Huge runs from Cairess, Mantz and Young!

Absolutely. The fixation on flat, fast city marathons feels wrong. This race with the two significant climbs is not exaggerated in its profile and is much more interesting. You have to be a more complete runner.
Unpopular opinion but it was great to see the pros challenging long climbs in a marathon and there should more of it in future races. We’ve seen enough races in past years with mostly fast courses. It’s time to give the pros more challenging courses. I thought it was more interesting watching them race uphill than on the flats.

What do you suggest was the sudden downfall of kipchoge this past 1 year? There are many people in the world who have come to a common consensus that something about the rapid decline of kipchoge since 2023 came on the back of his training partner busted for testo. It’s like he awoke from a slumber and decided to repent of his sins of doping and start running clean and slow! With aches and pangs to boot.
The kipchoge of yesteryear we know has never complained of pain in any part of his body and he was totally steel proof and invincible. Back pain hip pain are for the pussies and so is leg pain.
kipchoge progressed from being a steel proof man warrior to a soft pussie, and that is alarming evidence of drugs
Hmmm. Mt Whitney is only 2 hours away. Portal Road out of Lone Pine is 13 miles up and 4,700 feet up.
We got just the course for you!
Or if you want to replicate the "wall hill" on the way out of Versailles, Calneva Dr near Beverly Hills is 1 km long at a 12% average grade. Plus then the runners could follow the ridge on Mulholland back towards the city... the views would be amazing.
