This is so beautiful. These are probably the most beautiful 13 pages I have ever seen.
This is an awfully clear case. I used to glance at the tabloid headlines while I was waiting in the checkout line at the grocery store during the Trump era and wonder why the National Inquirer, a rag for whom Trump's life seems tailor-made for coverage, a tabloid life--and particularly as president, never had any negative stories about Trump but only made up stuff about Hillary and Obama, both of whom were out of office. The answer is the catch and kill policy. Their parent company was buying and killing stories about Trump, including those for which he is now charged.
Even CNN’s legal analyst is saying this case is underwhelming. When even CNN won’t shill for you against Trump, it’s bad, really bad. pic.twitter.com/KCczjOW4Il
The date of the most recent transaction in the indictment is December 7, 2017: five years and four months ago, past the statute of limitations.
But apparently Bragg is going to argue the statute of limitations can be "tolled" because Trump was outside of New York, being president.
The indictment is legally insufficient on its face. New York state law does not make it a crime to influence an election. Federal law does not make it a crime either. Maybe that's why no law is actually cited in the indictment. Nor are the facts sufficient. #TrumpArraignmenthttps://t.co/CbOj27v41v
Trumps entire election schtick was that he was the straight shooter, the truth teller. He was going to drain the swamp. All others were fake news. Liars.
If the DemonRats are successful in knocking out Trump from the race, it would put Biden against DeSantis, and the biggest own-goal in presidential election history.
One thing is for sure, a book will come out of this titled "Trumped Up; the Class "E" Witch Hunt Gone Awry"
You are basically arguing that Trump should be let off on a technicality. And the technicality has nothing to do with whether the case is strong or weak.
It's a rare criminal that gets his walking paper because of the statute of limitations.
