I'll watch the women's tournament at this point, where it's the sweet 16 to the final.
Quite honestly, the first round games are by a large a complete joke and mostly uncompetive.
I read where this year in the first round (32 games), there was 4 "upsets" where the lower seeded team won. 2 of these were #9 seeds (versus 8 seed) and 2 were #10 seeds (versus 7 seed). That's it.
The average margin of victory in the women's tournament first round? 26 points. That's ridiculous. There shouldn't be 64 teams in the women's tournament but this is the problem with both "equity" and guaranteeing each conference winner a spot.
The power conferences have some really good teams. The lower conference teams are awful.
