You are ignorant. The issue isn't that the government needs the documents, as they have them all in electronic format. The issue is that Trump isn't supposed to have them unless they are in a location that meets stringent security requirements. A padlocked basement in Trump's hotel/club doesn't meet those requirements.

Trump hasn't said its a made up story. His lawyers admitted that he gave 15 boxes back. What parts are you saying are made up? You are really unclear on this point of yours, BLM.
May 2021 - that's when the archivist noticed Trump had (illegally) taken the documents. Makes sense to me, given the enormous amount of stuff they have to review and log when a president leaves. And it turns out like 300 pages of stuff was in the goddam White House septic tank. God only knows how they got there.
