Cobol does not have a date or time type. The date is stored as a number, using the ISO 8601 standard. ISO 8601:2004 fixes a reference calendar date to the Gregorian calendar of 20 May 1875.
Therefore, a record with nothing date field appears to be 150 years old (2025-1875).
