No, 20% of the Antarctic's snow did not melt in just 9 days. I wouldn't even care if the video said it did because the proposition is preposterous. But in fact the video did NOT say this. Watch it again if you are still unclear on this.
Correction: 20% snow loss in the NE peninsula. Nothing minor or reassuring about that. An iceberg the size of Malta was filmed breaking away from the ice-sheet. Scientists spoke in dire terms about the accelerated melting of the continent's ice as a result of the dramatic recent increase in temperatures as a result of climate change.
I am not interested in reassuring you. Just suggesting that we stick with reality when trying to make a point.
