Polls best in head-to-head matchups against Trump. There just isn't any evidence that Sanders would fare worse than other potential nominees and there is evidence that he would fare better.

Trump is going to call any Dem. nominee a socialists, so I don't think his base is going to be any more fired up for Sanders than any other nominee.

I don’t put much stock in head-to-heads this early. We don’t even have a nominee yet.

There’s a lot of ammunition for Trump and his followers to latch on to with Sanders. Trump’s campaign will be able to rattle off a long list of “socialist” Sanders programs. Not so much with more moderate candidates.

That is why the Liberals over at MSNBC are frantic at the prospect of a Bernie nomination. They have interrupted their 3-year-long trashing of Trump every second of every broadcast to begin trashing Sanders. They are aghast at the prospect of a Bernie versus Trump. It was funny to see all the hosts like Chuck Todd, Joy Reid, L. O'Donnel and the rest of the hacks going after Sanders and asking why Warren and the rest of them at the debate only went after Bloomberg and pretty much left Sanders unscathed.

I agree that head-to-head polling this far out is not all that reliable. I think it is the most compelling evidence we have though.

I would ask if you have any evidence that Sanders will fare worse than any of the other nominees?
