What Trump promised vs what he actually did. Someone please fact check me.
End war in Ukraine "within 24 hours" --- Well it's been more than 24 hours, though it is evident he is working on this. Though his methods are a bit... concerning, to me and most of Europe, as he has cut much aid from Ukraine, spoke with Putin before Zelenskyy, and appears to be trying to keep much of Europe out of in person negotiations.
End war in Gaza. --- The ceasefire in Gaza began prior to Trumps inauguration, it was announced on Jan 15 and put into effect on Jan 19. After Isreal launched an airstrike at a small number of Hamas officials, which the Hamas claimed to be a serious violation of the ceasefire, they threatened to withhold that weeks hostages, though after Trump threatened "All hell will break loose" if they didn't return ALL the hostages, they ultimately released the 3 hostages as previously agreed with Isreal. Trump has said that "We will own it" in reference to the Gaza Strip and that they will rebuild Gaza, but send all the Palestinians to other countries, never to return to Gaza. This plan was praised by Isrealli PM but much push back from other nations, and bi-partisan push back from US lawmakers and civilians.
Mass deportations. --- He has also certainly done this to some extent. However, despite a large influx of resources/funding, he is still very dissatisfied. He has instructed ICE to aim for 1200+ deportations per day, yet most days they are at 1000 or less. He has also removed the Temporary Protected Status from about 300,000 Venezuelans, while providing refuge for South Africans who have been discriminated against.
Cut funding for schools that allow transgender students.--- He has... tried to do this. He did sign an executive order that would do this, however, it is unclear whether or not the constitution allows this, as the president does not have the "power of the pouch". His sweeping hold on federal funds was already blocked by numerous federal courts, and this order also has numerous federal lawsuits seeking for it to be blocked. In the case of athletics, it is also being tried in federal courts. Numerous organizations have updated their policies, such as the NCAA, and other organizations have defended their current policies, such as MSHSL.
Cut funding for schools that teach critical race theory.--- Similar case as above.
Get rid of electric vehicle mandates. --- He has successfully done this. However, I find it interesting that he still opted to pursue this, as his top donor will take a hit as Elon owns the biggest EV company.
No taxes on social security. --- TRUMP hasn't touched this. However, DOGE has been given access to the Treasury Department, which controls over $6,000,000,000,000 (6 trillion) annually, including social security, and they have taken control of the agency after reportedly finding billions of dollars in fraud. Again, though, his methods are a bit concerning, as DOGE locked out the departments employers from their computers, and in some cases, their offices, and fired hundreds of workers in this department alone (not counting any workers that accepted his fork in the road offer).
End birthright citizenship. --- He tried to do this. And failed. So far, 18 states have filed a total of 10 different lawsuits against this executive order. As of now, every court has ruled against Trump, with 4 federal courts ruling against the order. Birthright citizenship is protected based on this constitution, and to amend the constitution it requires 2/3 of both the house and the senate AND 3/4 of the states must approve. Currently, none of these requirements are met.
Impose tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada. --- Initially, he said this would occur "On day one." Then he delayed it a week. Then he put them into place on Feb 4. And then soon after revoked Mexicos and Canadas tariffs until early March. It remains to be seen whether or not he will delay them again.
Get rid of the 'deep state'. --- An email was sent out titled "A Fork In The Road". Essentially, quit now and keep being paid until September 30, otherwise, we might fire you later. Trump and Elon Musk have also called for the impeachment of numerous federal judges who have ruled against the Presidents orders, claiming them to be corrupt. Trump has fired over a dozen inspectors general (which requires Congress to be notified 30 days in advance according to federal law). One case has been brought up to the supreme court.
Lower prices and inflation. --- This is really the only major claim that President Trump has done the opposite of. By imposing tariffs, he is making American businesses pay more to import supplies, which in many cases is passed down to the consumer (you!!) to make up for the increase in cost. Also, numerous countries have expressed interest in ending their usage of the US dollar, 2 countries have already stopped since inauguration.
TLDR: In almost every way (with few exceptions), he has tried to make good on his promises, though not in the way everyone expected. Much of what he has done has faced significant legal opposition, in many cases being tried and blocked in federal courts.
