interesting to think about how spanky would compete against Amy K. It's like evil vs good...his vileness would be thrown into high contrast by her nomalcy and decency. What nickname could be bestow? 'boring amy?' or maybe something ugly and sexualized. But she's perfectly normal looking, not short, not tall, etc.
It's easy to see how spanks would fight against bernie, joe, bloomberg, pete. But amy? She doesn't have any of the characteristics he can hammer away at.
although he is a genius at finding weaknesses in opponents.
Klobuchar is neither good nor decent. But she is certainly boring. That's her biggest weakness.
People want "circus." Bernie gives them a great circus. Pete gives them a great circus. That's why they are polling ahead of Klobuchar. Biden doesn't give them a great circus, and his campaign is imploding.
And guess who gives the greatest circus on earth? President Trump. That's why he will be reelected by a landslide.
Eggheads in a bubble do not understand this.
ever read the pendulum theory of presidential politics? It works pretty well. It suggests the American people go on a pendulum from circus candidates to calm candidates. Pretty regularly. for example:
Nixon: Circus
Carter: Boring
Reagan: Circus
Bush1: Boring
Clinton: Circus
Bush2: Not clear. Aspects of both. But ended in circus of war and financial calamity, leading to:
Obama: Boring
Trump: Circus.
It's not an exact theory so please don't start with the 'but but buts.' But at the same time there is something to it. Which would suggest the next president will be boring. And we'll like it. Until we get bored and want some sparkle and shine.

yeah that's good, except trump will veto it and get what he wants.
meanwhile, "Pentagon to divert $3.8 billion from its budget to build more of Trump’s border barrier"

Trump is the only circus no one else on your list is even close. Clinton had baggage, but that's about it. Trump's lies, insults and incoherence is unprecedented. It's a return to normalcy and not to boring.

Moran, Trump never had any intention of attacking Iran. Why do you think he lured General Souleimani out of the country before assassinating him? Didn't respond to the Iranian missile strike? Iran is too strong to attack directly.
Ah, yes, those Clinton years of peace & prosperity; probably the quietest era since the ‘50s. I do remember Gingrich was a real drama queen.

How did Trump lure Souleimani out of Iran?

that doesn't negate the theory.
and if you lived through nixon's impeachment, reagan's scandal plagued admin, Clinton's scandals and impeachment you know they were pretty crazy times that made people long for calm.

I'm talking about how they campaigned and presented themselves. Not a single one of the others campaigned by bashing their opponents and telling ridiculous lies.

Trump has forced the construction crews to cut so many corners to "extend" the wall money that the inevitable happened . . .

Killing Soleimani was a payback for Trump's worst business deal ever. Made even worse because it was Ivanka's showcase project.
Soleimani had a group of secret ops "investors" looking for a builder. No one agreed to help them except for one builder. Trump Org. The secret ops money made by the project was intended for Iranian military covert operations. No problem for Trump. Sadly, that building remain unfinished. Trump has been after Soleimani since he took office.

Attorney General William P. Barr pushed back hard Thursday against President Trump’s criticism of the Justice Department, saying, “I’m not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody.”
In an interview with ABC News, Barr said the president’s highly critical tweets aimed at the department “make it impossible for me to do my job.”
Barr said he was prepared to accept the consequences of speaking out against the president.
“I cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me,” the attorney general said.

Not saying I'll stick to that forever, but it seems to be working well for me lately. Saves a lot of wasted time.
Barr is a toad.
He sees how Trump treated Sessions and everybody else and decides it will be different for him. Or if he is just subservient enough most of the time he can maintain independence?

He should blame the Mexicans for not agreeing to pay for a high quality wall. His supporters will love it.

I think Barr is just giving cover to Rs in the senate and Rs in the DOJ...so those Rs can say 'See! Barr is defending the independence of the DOJ! Nothing to worry about here so I can just keep on going with my head down and out of the line of fire.'
will be interesting to see if trump responds. I don't think trump has the courage to fire barr or create a feud.

And speaking of Roger Stone, for the second time in less than a year I ran into him. He was exiting an elevator in downtown, Fort Lauderdale . He was dressed impeccably in a navy blue suit and tie. A couple other people approached him shook his hand, took pics with him and wished him well. He was in good spirits.
Trump will pardon him.
Did you give your hero a hug and are you sure he wasn't wearing this?

Barr realized what Rudy was doing - with trump you either go all in and get a hold of insurance or you are better off staying very far away. Rudy is all in and so is Barr. What's in it for them? Power and a fortune.

We have to acknowledge that we live in very different times. In Nixon's era there were a handful of news networks and they all reported news. Today, trump = big time revenue for all the networks. Do not let negative coverage fool you, those networks know it sells and the bosses would love nothing more than 4 more years of great numbers. They troll, opine and analyze but at the end of the day trump has resulted in big bucks for everyone and it's going to hurt when he's gone.
