Are you one of those poor people who hates anyone that comes from means?

Oh no! Jake grew up slightly upper-middle class with a loving, supportive family!
RTJ gets a lot of love on this thread and it's important that no one is rendered immune to criticism. But if you're trying to make the argument that his accomplishments are all thanks to wealth, then at least pose any meaningful evidence whatsoever (not his above-average childhood home and family accents which there are merely a handful of seconds available to listen to in the whole vid).
I don't know RTJ too well, but I'll try to put together a hypothetical argument for you (others feel free to correct/fill in blanks): RTJ possessed the family wealth necessary to attend a private American university, the Savannah College of Art and Design, and run for their NAIA program (note: he didn't focus very seriously on running, so his family wealth plays no part in his running career so far). He then moved back to the UK, got a job (note: like any normal person), and also a major injury requiring surgery, which only rich scum can afford. He then spent 3 hours a day on the stationary bike for 9 months while he recovered, applying an intense work ethic his parents must have paid a tutor to give him, which is when he discovered the Japanese running method/culture. He was also extremely privileged to be able to dedicate this much time to cross-training, as us normal people have to work 18 hours per day to be able to afford rent for our cardboard boxes. And to own a stationary bike?! Bougie scum. Then, he quits his job to move to Japan, which his parents obviously paid for (note: not sure the financial details here; how did he support himself? Likely the main point of this argument, speculating that he didn't have a job and his parents supported him being there). He spends a year there and becomes a 2:17 marathoner before ever making his first video (note: obviously not doing this for the fame), with cameras and microphones his parents, fat on caviar, must have paid for. RTJ grew up too pampered to be able to make any money himself if it's not through YouTube adsense and Coros/Brooks sponsorships. And it's impossible for him to have learned Japanese without his parents having paid for an uber-expensive tutor.

First 2.5 mins of this vid explain exactly how he did it financially. He applied for and received a prestigious "Daiwa scholarship" to spend 19 months in Japan. The first year involves an intensive Japanese language course, followed by 6 months work placement. The whole thing is fully funded and they provide a stipend. Since that ended, he's been able to afford rent for a 20 m^2 apartment and very basic food (e.g., microwaved rice packets) through YouTube revenue and such. He's done this all on his own.
Just getting around to watching the RTJ video and wow, his sister is a total babe. She's up there with Mica Wood and Sabriah Floberg on the hawtness scale.

Join the back of the line, his sister liked one of my strava comments on RTJ's run the other day, we're gonna get married next month.
He left that "big house" behind to move into a shoebox in Tokyo while surviving off of microwave rice packets, he's hardly living a life of luxury
Of course. It’s his “gap year” of sorts. Go slumming it in an exotic locale because $$$ isn’t ever really going to be an issue. And he’s pounding pavement instead of flirting around so good luck to him.

The thing that cracks me up about RTJ is that the scholarship is some sort of "cultural exchange" thing, and he has to be by far the most successful person in the history of the program in terms of spreading parts of Japanese culture to a wider audience.

I don’t think it’s right to compare WAGs of YouTubers to sisters of YouTubers. They are two entirely different things in the YouTuber world. And, let’s talk race times. RTJ’s sister is aiming for sub 3:30 marathon. Begging Felton’s sister (who comes across as very nice) couldn’t break 2 in the half. Therefore, by the only metric that matters on LRC, which is looks, RTJ’s sister wins.
All kidding aside, she comes across as a very nice likeable person, which was nice to see, but, again, so does BFs.

Bro, I already called dibs on Sabriah when she inevitably leaves floberg, step off.

I agree.
One thing I would say is that Jake is clearly from a very wealthy background. Anyone who lives in the UK would appreciate a house like that in London, well into the several millions. Plus, both he and his sister went to a private school — this could well cost £100k+ a year.
Having a huge financial safety net like this does buy a lot of confidence! Case in point, Jake ran to Japan, and his sister is a freelance sports presenter — both are able to pursue their dreams!
That said, Jake seems like one of the most dedicated young men I’ve come across. His existence in Japan seems like 90% grind. He does not seem to socialise or do much outside of making videos, eating, and running.
Honestly, if I had the money (which I don’t) and I knew my kids would turn out like Jake and his sister, I would 100% afford them the same privileges. It is sad.
RTJ went to Bedford School (he lists it on his personal Facebook page)
Annual fees (non boarding) are now £30k for upper school/sixth form but that will be ~20% higher than it was before VAT change, and private school fees have outpaced inflation by a lot in the last 15 years (he would have left around 2016 if he stayed for sixth form)
So yes he is a bit posh, but he wouldn't be anywhere near the levels of people who go to Eton, Harrow, Rugby etc.
I thought his family came across great in that last video, all loving life and good vibes.
