Seems like New Gen is hoping to just ignore their problems and they'll go away. This will be fun next year when they try to have another camp.
Stop harassing me on my Emma $60 burger thread pls and thanks.
Also this thread is almost 2 weeks old why you still bumping it ?
I only posted once, sorry you're fragile. Tha ks for bumping this thread though. New Gen needs to comment and apologize for the hate in the comment section and photo albums.
what is even these guys incentive to host a camp with 17 high school athletes? Doesn't seem to be a fee to attend camp. Seems like just to be able to hang out with high schoolers
Another weekend comes and goes and the new gen camp stays silent.....
In honor of another week of silence, here's the now-deleted apology:

A creative photoshoot with our campers was quickly taken out of context and labeled as something it was not.
We understand the concerns people have about what was being portrayed. Our intention has always been to empower our campers to execute and direct their own creative projects.
It is our number one goal to make sure our camp is a safe and empowering place for young creatives and young runners to learn and grow as people.
At no point during the course of camp was any camper ever made to feel uncomfortable, degraded, or victimized.
What started as a collaborative artistic idea between the young women and men campers has turned into something none of us ever expected.
We understand the concerns people have about what was being portrayed.
In a continued effort to draw inspiration form pop culture and insert it to the world of running, ideas were taken from famous high school movies. Mean Girls, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Breakfast Club, Dazed and Confused.
Because of constant portrayal of these situations in pop culture, it is seen by many as ok. However, we now know and understand that it is also harmful to many.
We love pop culture and will continue to incorporate it in to the world of running. However we now understand we need to be aware of how certain scenarios are interpreted by others.
The comment section on the post quickly got out of hand. We can not and will not excuse the remarks made by certain individuals. We do not stand for homophobia in any way, shape or form. These comments were quickly deleted.

Will this be the last we ever hear from them?
Potentially, they’ve probably burnt too many bridges in the sport now. No shoe brand is gonna want their likeness associated with grown men acting creepy towards minors.
I don’t think Nikes worked with those creeps since NXN and I doubt On Running is happy about all this. Cole and Cooper have got to be done with these guys too, it would be a really bad look if they appeared in a video again.

High schoolers desperately want to be seen as individuals. They are "controlled" by their parents in their household and it's around the age of high school they push away seeking independence. Having an exclusive camp plays to the insecurities and desires of a 17 year old kid. I don't think this is intentional, however I do believe the New Gen want to be "inclusive to their people" and not so much inclusive to the entire sport of track and field.

I can’t believe they deleted it. Leaving that apology up would have saved them from a lot of this.
That said, it’s unsurprising to see another bad business decision by them.
Agreed. If you're going to apologize, say it with your chest. Be an adult. Own what you did. Posting something for a couple hours to limit the amount of attention is childish. It would be more beneficial to the very young fanbase to see companies in the real world owning their mistakes and trying to grow from it rather than sweep it under the rug with lip service. I don't think they see the issue with what they've done and nobody wants to take responsibility for it. I'd respect them if they just owned it, but I wouldn't expect that from 24-25 year olds or younger. Heck, when I was 24 I would have struggled with that, but I wasn't in charge of a business heavily influenced by marketing.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be brief. The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our female campers - we did.
But you can't hold a whole track camp responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole summer camp system? And if the whole camp system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America.

lol the Animal House apology would actually fit in well with their values.
