It's idiotic to pretend there's only 2 camps. Not all pro-lifers are life begins when the zipper comes down and not all pro-choicers are fans of post birth abortions.
The MAJORITY of America opposes convenience abortion which make up the overwhelming majority of abortions.
Nobody is restricting anyone's cooms, coomer. Some people just believe it's wrong to kill someone because your condom broke. If banning abortion is "slavery" (because apparently banning abortion means forcing women to get pregnant, according to coomer logic), then allowing abortion is genocide.
All of this is based on the coomer idea that women don't have control over their sex drives and therefor can't prevent coom from entering their bodies, otherwise they would be considered responsible for their own coom intake.
You are saying that the government has the right to dictate to women when they can and cannot have sex by withholding abortion services. Forcing women to abstain from sex unless they are willing to carry a pregnancy to term is the ultimate subjugation of women in society to second class handmaids. If the term "limited government" means anything, then having government deciding when women can have sex is about the biggest overreach and intrusion into private lives imaginable.
Nope, not at all what I'm saying. Just because abortions are illegal doesn't make sex illegal. Abortion - illegal. Sex - legal. Understand?
Whether or not women are willing to risk pregnancy by having sex without the ability to kill your child if you get pregnant is completely up to them.
Republicans have no problem mandating morality and behavior of others. Just as long as it is their definition of morality and as long as they have personal options to bypass such morality for themselves. Abortion checks that box.
This is very common. ie: Opposed to illegal immigration yet hire illegals to work on your mansion and your company. Oppose government handouts to poor yet gobble them up for yourself. Ban books that teach about slavery as grooming, yet push for bible in schools.
Also, you are a very disingenuous nasty person. Ectopic pregnancy does not occur 1-2% of the time in the general population. It occurs about 1 in 30000 pregnancies. The 1-2 percent figure is with fertility treatments.
No matter the percentage of ectopic pregancies, my wife had an ectopic pregnancy many years ago. I can't recall how far along she was when it was discovered as ectopic but we knew she was pregnant for a time. She eventually was rushed by ambulance to the hospital to have the pregnancy aborted.
In some states, and by your idiocy this would be illegal and, apparently in Louisiana subject my wife to a murder charge based on legislature being introduced. Tt is absolutely life threatening to the mother.
This is what happens when the religious right are overly catered to by a political party.

this is not a factual statement . In fact, you cannot point to a single data point that shows this. I do know that more people 25% think abortion should be legal in all cases than think abortion should be illegal in all cases (13%)

NEW YORK (AP) — A solid majority of Americans believe most abortions should be legal in the first three months of a woman’s pregnancy, but most say the procedure should usually be illegal in the second and third trimesters, a...
The US Supreme Court is reportedly considering overturning abortion rights, according to Politico’s publication of an apparently leaked draft opinion by conservative justice Samuel Alito. Each state could become free to make its own abortion laws, and the likelihood is that many would choose to ban the procedure. There are more than 20 countries in the world where abortion is completely prohibited, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights, a global legal advocacy group.
Countries and regions where abortion is illegal: Andorra, Aruba, Congo, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Iraq, Jamaica, Laos, Madagascar, Malta, Mauritania, Nicaragua, Palau, Philippines, San Marino, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Suriname, Tonga, West Bank & Gaza Strip.
Looks like a fine list of non- First World Nations that the US wants to emulate and join.
So the debate is and always will be about morality vs personal rights. There are other issues which are also about morality vs personal rights: homosexual marriage, homosexual acts, transgender rights, even interracial marriage, drugs use, etc.
