Yeah it's going to be brutal for a pale skinned, big lad like Bester who only started proper running a few years ago. Even so still predict a top 10 for Nick, the cult members will be in full fornication mode afterwards.
It's a sad state of affairs when Philly Bowdens latest moanfest gets more views than Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Alex Yee.
Philly is her own brand, and 'moanfest' is a great term for her videos (though I still watch, it's a bit like observing a particularly violent car crash).
But I'm more drawn to smaller runners. JI and Young are almost too big for me to really care about. Their product feels bloated and full of unsubstantial content. I enjoy the Habtu Cheneys, the Adam Woods, the FloBerg (even if he's a bit of a dork). Are they necessarily influencers? I don't think so, maybe FloBerg.
The JIs and Yees of the world are not only great at what they do, but decent on camera. I just don't think there's the same level of relatability
Id disagree to a large extent but it's probably just personal preference.
To me Yee (and to a lesser extent Young) are just normal nice blokes who happen to be exceptional at their sport.
I like the YTrs who are running first and YT second. Generally that means the pro runners but not exclusively

It’s going to be mighty difficult for him to break his current PB of 2:19 (yes you didn’t read that wrong, 2:19 not 3:19. Mind blowing time) due to the hot Spanish weather but if anybody has the will power and talent to do it, it’s Nick.
Im hoping to get along to his shake out run. I’m injured currently so can’t run but hoping to get a photo with him and autograph my BA gear. Can’t wait to give him all my support on the day. Got a wonderful sign for him. Boomshakalaka tribe, let’s go!
