From what I understand, the 2016 election did mark a change in the electorate - up until Trump the Republican voters were significantly better off than Democratic voters.

With Trump that switched and Dems are now better off.

It's the same thing as always - College educated city people tend to be wealthier and are dems.

rural non-college people tend to be poorer and are Repubs.

But obvi there is a mix - these are big-tent parties.

If your point is that people who help bring us food, housing, and electricity are very important, then I agree.

But also consider:

The tractors used by the tofu (soybean) farmer were designed by college grads.

These college grads are not brainwashed. They are just intelligent and educated.

You didn’t notice the half-irony in his post? The way I read that agip is basically mocking that binary way of thinking.

those articles were narrow - focused only on the working class. they didn't pretend to do any sort of overall evalution of the Trump vs HRC voter. they ignored the poor and the rich, for example.
