I hear you that Bernie will generate excitement. The problem is that he will generate excitement on both sides.
I'd define a swing voter as someone would has not decided yet who to vote for and isn't locked into voting the party line. That is Racket. And many, many more. Remember that there are millions of Obama-Trump voters. Many in swing states.
Reason and policy aren't a major part of voting decisions for millions of people. it's more visceral than that.
I'm not worried about anyone voting for Trump because they don't like Bernie. Nobody who doesn't like Bernie thinks that Trump is a better choice.
I agree with you about voting being visceral instead of policy-based. That's why I'm not scared of a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist. People will take a look at Bernie and conclude that it's not a problem, so I'll vote for him instead of Trump.

There is no discussion to be had. If you are able-bodied you need to be working and not be on the dole. That was easy. Again, if you are able-bodied, get a job and support yourself. I got up at 4 every morning to work out, and then ran for up to 12 miles and then would go to work. Able-bodied people can't even wake at 8 to work?
