You (and many others) have gotten Racket wrong. You may reasonably disagree with his expressed intent to avoid voting for Bernie even if he is the only viable alternative to Trump on the November ballot. But the following are certainly true:
1) Racket is most definitely NOT a Trumper.
2) He is also one of the most intelligent and informed posters on this thread.
Yes he’s so intelligent he thinks everyone has autism.

You guys have no idea what socialism is like. Have you ever been to Sweden? You need to think long and hard about having a Socialist at the helm. America would be changed forever, and not for the better. As bad a scoundrel that Trump is, Bernie as president would do everlasting ddamage to the country.
It looks like you've never been to Sweden
Do you support able-bodied individuals for doing nothing? Or do you support making able-bodied people working for their income?

I didn't say I would stay home if it's Bernie, I merely said I would not vote for Bernie or Trump. I do intend to vote as I always have.

And what makes you think those working in the US don't have to pay for those that don't work? Oh yeah - he is one of us so he is obviously one of the most intelligent and most informed and ALSO one of the most charismatic posters here. The women love him too! simply because he has liberal views!

How can the health care cost be cut in half? Are we in Fantasyland?
Hey, if you are unwilling or incapable of an adult discussion we can drop it and you can go back to what you were doing here.

sure there are swing voters. Esp if you consider people who won't vote for a Socialist.
Racket just said he's not a swing voter. A swing voter is someone who can be convinced to vote for Trump instead of Sanders or instead of Biden.
The same is true of black voters and suburban women and anyone else. None are swing voters. Everyone either loves Trump or loathes him.
It's all about turnout. So there are those like Racket who will stay home if it's Bernie. There are others who will stay home if it's Biden.
So who can generate more enthusiasm and turn out more of the anti-Trump vote? I think that's Bernie for sure.
I hear you that Bernie will generate excitement. The problem is that he will generate excitement on both sides.
I'd define a swing voter as someone would has not decided yet who to vote for and isn't locked into voting the party line. That is Racket. And many, many more. Remember that there are millions of Obama-Trump voters. Many in swing states.
Reason and policy aren't a major part of voting decisions for millions of people. it's more visceral than that.

I'll agree with what you've said.
But I do think his judgment has gone awry if he thinks there is no better/worse between trump and sanders.

More insults? Come on dude. Every one of my posts are sincere. And NONE have insults. Why do you need to insult those who don't agree with you? Do you have any idea how childish it makes you appear?

It's funny how I stop posting for like 2 months and I suddenly become a stranger. Trump is nothing but hot air and aside from the fact that he's an absolute embarrassment to the office of the presidency, I'd say I'm not worried about what he's done to the country because he's been too lazy and retarded to actually do pretty much anything meaningful at all beyond the status quo, with maybe the exception of cancelling TPP and tariffs on China but it turns out that might be actually end up working due purely to dumb luck the windfall of an upper hand that the US gains from the corona-virus outbreak.
The more dangerous thing about Trump is the lost opportunity costs the country will incur, i.e. the things he won't do rather, than the things he will do. Four more years of Trump means four years of America falling behind on it's goals and status as a world leader and it's four more years of the race to the bottom, four years of understaffed positions in actually important government offices like the state department, and four more years of questionable treatment towards our allies. Yeah it sucks @ss but that's just the reality of things, but it seems like even his inner circle is determined to subvert his more ridiculous tendencies. Besides, it motivates and gives people an opportunity to fix things in their local community where they can actually make differences and connect with people
Ok, so what you just said, how critical is it to you that he doesn't get 4 more years?
I don't how you want me to quantify it really. Will "super duper critical" suffice?
Look, at the risk of being vacuous and cliche, it is what it is. I super duper didn't want Trump to win in 2016 either but that happened. And you know what, so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for us to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

Did you even read the article? It proves my point.
I guess because it's published by the ACM you didn't understand it. As I said, you don't know what computer science is.
This is not surprising because, well, you are you.
