He will draw Republican and conservative voters away from Trump who just can’t vote for a Democrat.

I just watched Romney's entire speech. I was struck by the number of times he talked about the oath he took to God when the trial started. Clearly, his faith was the thing that drove him to render a fair and impartial verdict.

As a Senator-juror, I swore an oath, before God, to exercise “impartial justice.” I am a profoundly religious person. I take an oath before God as enormously consequential.

I support a great deal of what the President has done. I have voted with him 80% of the time. But my promise before God to apply impartial justice required that I put my personal feelings and biases aside.

I will be vehemently denounced. I am sure to hear abuse from the President and his supporters. Does anyone seriously believe I would consent to these consequences other than from an inescapable conviction that my oath before God demanded it of me?

We can all imagine the kind of pressure that Romney was under. But Mitt Romney was answerable to God above all. And today he passed the test.

The magic undies were tight on Pierre Delecto, relieved by his vote. Now he will be accepted to planet Kolob.

It was a win for his base and no one else and if it was a hoax he should confirmed it by allowing testimony and release of documents. He should be thankful for the gift he received and move on.

Mitt thinks by showing character and bravery and true ethics he can show up the rest of the Republican party. That we will see his earnest, from the heart speech about why he had to vote to convict trump (even though he knew the consequences) that that would shame the rest of us. He is wrong. We have nothing to feel shame about. We support trump forever, regardless of what people think he has done. We luv that good and decent and honest man (no not Mitt, I am talking about Trump).

Mitt took an oath before God, who trump confuses with himself. I think that was the main misunderstanding.

Exit polling in '92 showed the 2d choice of a Perot voter was actually split down the middle.

Do you, you are right. He is just a plain jealous loser, how can anybody not see what we can see easily see? They were fooled by his "from the heart" talk about God and his oath and character. Do you see how he faked getting emotional?

He obviously did this for personal gain and because it was the easy way out.

Match Mitt against Trump and we take Trump.

Do you, you and I see the truth. Trump is the decent man and Mitt lacks integrity.

Hopefully God will give you and I the reward we earned by standing with Trump!

Agree, it was more that Bill adjusted his electoral strategy in ‘92.

I’m personally hopeful so far that bernie has a targeted electorate, not so much strategically as that it’s the reality of the current stratified vote. Many would disagree, but a little more socialism for people instead of just the rich isn’t a stress to the system.
