Not that I wish to pat myself on the back, but I have predicted all along that Trump's 2016 victory was the beginning of an eight-year, and possibly longer term. The optimism of liberals who think this disaster could be contended with butter knives are, frankly, deluded idiots. Think this is not as dangerous a situation as 1933 just because there is not a similar domestic body count? Think again. Were most Americans not so distracted by their iPhones, their Netflix binging, their 401k accounts, their bourgeois leisure activities, they might possibly have the vision to see the transition to post-democracy America on that is picking up speed. The only thing that is going to stop this transition are things that will not happen until it's far too late, such as general strikes, the routing of the leadership of the Democratic Party, and regional disengagement from Federal policy.
I fear you are correct.
I am optimistic that we should win in November if it is a fair election. But that's a big IF.
Repubs already tampered with the Iowa vote. Call it a test run for what they will do in November.
