I'll predict he runs 2:15-16. I wouldn't be surprised he's anaemic, I might be wrong but it seemed like he never really got on top of it to begin with? When I saw he was using the sauna to heat train my first thought was that he better be taking his iron.

Also I know he's been heat training all summer in Japan but starting to heat train less than 30 days before the race will only negatively impact his performance from the literature I've read.

Scullion will never run a fast marathon again. He's said plenty of times that his goals have shifted from pro running to content creation, coaching, merch making etc. I don't think he has the structure in Belfast or London to train properly. His best runs came when he was based in Flagstaff (lived with his coach/agent) and during the UK lockdown when he had no choice but to be disciplined.

Can you remind us of how fast his marathon was.

I heard she's calling it an "altitude PR" but I don't really get it. Her road 5K PR is something like 15:15 and she just ran a minute slower than that. Is she saying the fastest 5K she has run at altitude? Great job, I guess

I believe her road 5k pr is something like 15:40s. She’s only gone faster on a track. But it’s pretty straightforward what she means by altitude PR. She ran the 5k at altitude, conditions proven to result in slower times, so when you adjust for the altitude’s impact then it converts to like a 15:35. Therefore it could be considered an altitude PR.

I’m not gonna argue that the logic behind it is perfect, heck I doubt Allie really considers this a PR, but she’s absolutely in sub 15:50 shape.

Watching Jake’s last video with another injury scare and him telling us he gets his medical advice from ChatGPT, I really think the best thing he can do is actually get a good physio to help him out.

A solid attempt. As someone said earlier probably not the best conditions today? Been quite windy today in the Uk and if this is laps of a track then you’d perhaps feel that more than normal?

He only needs to shave 6 seconds off per 100metres from his time today to hit his sub 3 goal. With a solid block can see him doing that in his next attempt presumably in the spring.

How can someone run 100k plus per week and hit 40k long runs regularly and be so slow? Someone mentioned Pfitz in his comments once and he didn't know what the plan was or who Pete Pfitzinger is
