Trump is going to claim he has negotiated a brilliant deal like he did in Afghanistan with the Taliban. It will be nothing of the sort. It will be a gift to Putin and garbage for Ukraine.
Trump will use it to demonize Ukraine further than he already has. It will be a pretense for Trump to “switch sides” and further ally with Russia.
This is all prognostication. We’ll see how accurate it turns out .

Unfortunately, I think you’re going to be proven correct. I was hoping the Ukrainians would be able to appease or even flip Trump to a more pro-Ukraine stance by promising access to their rare earth metals but it looks like that play failed.
I really don’t understand Trumpers anti post-WWII world order that favors the US pretty strongly. Can one of you Trump Humpers please explain you strategy / vision for how the US maintains its dominance in the world by pursuing Trumps agenda? It seems to me like he is seriously weakening our position globally via his approach. How do you see this as benefiting the US long term? Do you want to see China fill all the gaps we leave internationally and strengthen their grip on the world as a whole? How is that America first thinking / strategy?
My grandpa flew 25+ missions in a B17 as a top turret gunner to flight the far right forces in Europe in 44-45. He was a Republican his whole life and passed away several years ago but I am 99% sure he’d be horrified at Trump’s approach to our allies (Canada, UK, France, Germany, NATO in general). This seems like total capitulation to our enemies and all out war on our allies. The result will be a new world order in which the US has pushed our allies to align with China out of necessity.

I am all for efficiency and ultimately downsizing the federal government, but firing large numbers of new FBI agents is not the way to achieve this. Louisiana specifically benefits from newly hired FBI agents. We need to add to our law enforcement, not take away.
