likewise that book sounds really quite interesting. My Dad is newly getting into running as a 55-60 age cat runner and think this method would be great for him to try and get his first sub 60 10k

Just seen this great short from Bigger Than Running which I think some of you here should remind yourselves of sometimes. Yes there’s the odd bad influencer but the majority are so wonderful. Changing the sport and bringing in so much positivity and inspiration

Remember when people would petition companies to get employees sacked when they had said something against the libtards on twitter? Maybe the LR community needs to petition ON to hand that deal she has to an actual flipping runner like Cole or Hugo Fry, or another woman even. Anyone but her.

I think you'll find Philly is closer to the top of the sport than either Hugo Fry or Cole...but agree she almost seems more invested in the content creation than the pro runner route - the reality is there's time for both as training takes less than 20 hours per week

RTJ is now back in London for the time being - he is really leaving nothing in Valencia up to chance (adjusting now to be in the correct time zone)

Would it be surprising if he grinded out a 2:09? No, the man has shown he can go to the well, even on a bad day. His sessions clearly look better in general. Although, you can make the argument he may lean more towards being a 'Workout Warrior'.

He's also tapering but at least from this block, his body seems to not actually be reacting well to tapering, not sure whether it may cause any big issue just before the race.

Recall seeing some insinuation on Strava that he may be possibly anemic again, which would dampen the ability to run Valencia and make the slower than 2:12 seem more realistic.

Doubt he'll be overheating as bad this time round, Valencia is probably not going to be as hot as Tokyo this year. (and thus should be faster than 2:14/2:15)

Just to let you know, £15.99 is the paperback and got it delivered this morning. Not sure where the PDF idea has come from, but it's a well produced, professional 200+ page book that I'm halfway through and honestly, it's absolutely fantastic and up there with the best running books I've ever read. Just thought I would drop that in, for anyone interested.

Mine is being delivered tomorrow. #1 running book on Amazon UK right now and in the top 1000 overall. Pretty impressive from a guy who is the opposite to most (some exceptions) of the shills we talk about in this thread.

I never watch his vids because I find him super annoying.....But Aubreyisrunning aka Biggerthanrunning to me is by far one of the worst.

No evidence to back this but he seems like an industry plant or something....he started off pretty small but still was receiving shoes to review.....and the past few days for some reason he started showing up on IG reels.

He has been whining on about "influencers" and how bad ones ruin the sport even though he's been begging for a Tokyo bib and finally was gifted one by therunningchannel.

30:06 10k for him today, well off his best but really, really impressive given that it’s off 3 weeks proper training, preceded by at least 2 months of ~25k per week.

Talent doesn’t go away, would be great to see him string 3 months of 100 mile weeks together and run a fast marathon.

Not everyone reacts to a taper the same way; different people need different types of taper.

Unfortunately Jake hasn't played around (that we've seen) with it to figure out what works best for him.
