It was a great victory! The kicker is right after the vote from the Senate not to Subpoena records the justice department released emails about Trump withholding money. So the democrats can't use that information. Great news.

"The Department of Justice revealed in a court filing late Friday that it has two dozen emails related to President Donald Trump's involvement in the withholding of millions in security assistance to Ukraine -- a disclosure that came just hours after the Senate voted against subpoenaing additional documents and witnesses in Trump's impeachment trial, paving the way for his acquittal.

The filing, released near midnight Friday, marks the first official acknowledgment from the Trump administration that emails about the President's thinking related to the aid exist, and that he was directly involved in asking about and deciding on the aid as early as June. Not sure about that. Also, things are defined as corrupt or criminal based on what is allowed. Apparently it is now ok to ignore subpoenas and conspire with foreign countries to get dirt on political opponents. If it is OK to do those things, then it is no longer corrupt or criminal to do so. It's not just this administration. It's been this way for decades. The Trump administration simply magnified it. Go back and look at Clinton's actions in the 90s.

As long as a president is protected from indictment this is what happens....political theater.

Trump has the highest consistent DISAPPROVAL of any incumbent in recent memory. W Bush at the end of '08 had an astronomically bad disapproval of 71%.
