Nixon won too....as did Clinton.....as will Trump....it doesn't bode well for their party as in each previous case that party LOST the next presidential election...

Trump not only is losing to Biden in key battleground states but also Sanders, Warren, even your happy friend Buttigeig or however you spell it.

Trump has the highest consistent DISAPPROVAL of any incumbent in recent memory. W Bush at the end of '08 had an astronomically bad disapproval of 71%.

How did Nixon win? It wasn't until Jan. 1973 that the investigation started focusing on the link between the burglary and his administration.

Watergate itself, was kind of stupid because McGovern had no chance of beating Nixon, with or without cheating..

The Bernie supporters are purists. Many of them know if Bernie is not that candidate, the next best person is my man trump. That's why I and the other trump lovers like Bernie. As we explain to the Bernie people, if he doesn't get the nomination it's because he was cheated and they just should stay home!

Watergate itself, was kind of stupid because McGovern had no chance of beating Nixon, with or without cheating..

Nixon was pardoned. He resigned only because the parties had a little more integrity back then. Nixon today wouldn't resign, nor would he be convicted in the Senate.

Impeachment simply doesn't work anymore, at least not as intended. The consequences of impeachment are cloudy and muddy and depend on how your side can frame it through the media. It's all about stretching it out as long as you can to inflict political damage.

I don't believe there will be a situation where a president will be bailed out like Trump was. There will never be one with a fanatical base that can damage someone's political career or a president with such a mean streak. It's also unlikely that future presidents will have a complete lack of integrity like Trump.

You have inadvertently made a strong case for nominating Sanders (or Yang). You will have more defection if you nominate someone else.

This is just not true and we have the 2018 mid terms to prove it. Give white suburban women a decent candidate and they will abandon trump.

Yeah I understand that. I think of Bernsters as an insurgency out to destroy things rather than build them. We need to win hearts and minds of Dem primary voters so they don’t join the Bernie express to four more years of trump.

Bernie has always been capped by his radicalism...I’m interested in making that cap quite hard in the primary.

But of course I’d vote for him if he were the nomineee.

That poll shows all the more reason to support Bernie. Biden voters will pull the lever for the Democrat no matter what. If Bernie isn't on the ballot, his voters won't show up.

I understand why you don't like it. And I don't blame you a bit. But that's how things are shaping up.

If removing the president is job one, then Bernie is the one to do it.

Not sure about that. Also, things are defined as corrupt or criminal based on what is allowed. Apparently it is now ok to ignore subpoenas and conspire with foreign countries to get dirt on political opponents. If it is OK to do those things, then it is no longer corrupt or criminal to do so. Republicans have sent us down a dark dark path.
