"A nasty poster" is a good description of Sally. I defended him once upon a time in this thread when people were going at him hard, but he didn't take that opportunity to realize that how he presents himself in this thread is not pleasant. It has nothing to do with a political difference of opinion. It has to do with him stating the same things over and over again...sometimes after people have agreed to let a certain topic go. I defended him, but he's just continued on his negative path too much. It has to do with him stating the same proven false things over and over again, making fun of the appearance of a 72-year-old woman who never says boo about anyone like that, making homophobic comments, insulting other posters. Lying. All the while pretending that he is a pleasant message board citizen when he is anything but that.

In some ways, it reminds me of our old friend DiscoGary. He would bring up the tired conspiracy theory of Obama being Kenyon because Obama wrote it in some obscure pamphlet. I found a scopes page that disproved the assertion and quoted the editor of the pamphlet saying it was an honest mistake and Obama had nothing to do with it.

A normal person would have given up the argument. DiscoGary would regurgitate the same conspiracy theory every month or so only to be disproved by me and others. This happened something like 6 times on this very thread.

Not really. There is the election in November. If the Senate doesn’t vote to at least hear witnesses, the voters will take matters into their own hands. More than half of all Americans think Trump should be removed from office. More than 2/3 of Americans think he committed a crime.

The Dersh argument is getting much replay because it is so outlandishly stupid. I think it hurts Trump quite a bit.

Republicans are making a full assault on democracy. It has never been permissible for a president to extort a foreign government (in war time no less) by withholding congress approved funds and threatening support to force them to start and publicize an investigation of a political rival.

Let's hope this never becomes the standard of approved presidential behavior. The Republicans apparently would be OK if future presidents did this.

So now the cowardly Republicans are in a lose/lose situation. If they refuse to let Bolton testify, no matter how they try to justify it, EVERYONE will see this as a cover up (and them as cowards). If Bolton testifies everyone will see the truth about Trump and that will cost Trump dearly.

The Republicans figure they lose more with Bolton speaking the truth. So they will not allow it and accept that people will see them a cowardly and this as a cover up.
