Woodbridge won the Orange country regional meet today with their top 5 doing very well. Aidan Antonio 13:56.00 (solo effort) Aiden Zavala 14:12.3 Thomas Yohn: 14:20.7 Inban Kathirivan: 14:43.6 Noah Spickler: 14:44.6 5 man time was the fastest in Orange County history. (Faster than Dana Hills and San Clemente’s time the year they went to nxn) comparing woodbridges race results at this meet to Herriman at Woodbridge invite which they won would look like this Jackson Spencer 13:42.1 Aidan Antonio: 13:56 Eli Jarvis: 14:01.7 Aiden Zavala: 14:12.3 Thomas Yohn: 14:20.7 Trevon Lounsbury: 14:29.7 Inban Kathirivan: 14:43.6 Noah Spickler: 14:44.6 William Tress: 14:46.7 Jeremiah Sorensen: 14:54.0
Jserra lowk did the same thing too. I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again, look at lot of the times around you and take the biases right out of you @ss

If this was a hypothetical dual meet, then Woodbridge would win 26-28. I wanted to see what the results would look like if Woodbridge's results from today replaced their times at the Woodbridge invitational last month, and they would've beaten Herriman by 26 points.
I accounted for the additional points for Herriman runners based on if new Woodbridge times would beat each runner. This hypothetical isn't to say that Woodbridge is a better team than Herriman now, as it would be unfair to say that two races should be compared a month apart, but it does show that Woodbridge has come a long way since their 9th place finish at their home invite. I think that this performance, and Campolindo's performance at rough rider, show that California has a strong top 3 teams that have elevated themselves from the rest of the field, which might earn California an at-large NXN berth this year, even if the region is overrated for NXN. Campolindo would've beat Woodbridge at Clovis, but today Woodbridge matched Dana hills' 2023 performance, and that team placed 10th at NXN, so I would wait to see how they progress further before placing one over the other. I do believe that both will be much closer to Jesuit than many may expect, and state will be a very exciting matchup.

Didn’t mean to reply to your thread lol, I was just pointing out how we give one infamous school major flack about recruiting and transfers while another well-known school in SoCal does the same thing, if not more, than that so called infamous school.
I think that, on the team side, CA is better this year than last year, which was probably the slowest it has ever been.
Also, Campolindo has no seniors, which makes me wonder how they will do next year
It was so bad last year it completely flipped the script on how good california was as a region.
Slowest years of CA for boys teams 2007 - 8, 17, 19 = 44 2024 - 11, 15, 17 = 43 2013 - 9, 16, 18 = 43 2012 - 1, 18, 20 = 39
So 2007 was the slowest, as the teams took 8th, 17th, 19th, which adds up to 44 points.
In 2012, the teams took 1st, 18th, 20th, which added up to 39 points. Arcadia won it, but the other 2 teams that made it finished near the bottom of NXN
Adding in the new speed ratings, and running a hypo meet power merge (top 24 teams), the top contenders are: Jesuit 121 (9-13-27-31-41) Woodbridge 174 (3-17-20-64-70) Campolindo 194 (22-26-40-47-59) Mira Costa 266 Beckman 274
The scores are lower than before because I found I recently introduced a big error (I was counting the top 6!). What?!? How did I not see that?!?
Woodbridge has an advantage because I was using the best SRs from 3 races, Campolindo only has 1 SR'ed race. At this point I would call them basically even and it will just come down to race day.
