Bernie/Stacey Abrams ticket would roll to an epic win with voting rights & socialized medicine & minimum wage increase.
HRC’s tragic flaw was a losing choice for VP & too conservative a platform.

HRC tragic flaw was that HRC made a horrible candidate. She just didn't have the likability factor.

You like to see our elected officials lying? That is very strange.
I said, "at least". That means hopefully, some are sincere.

You lose.
Wrong.
I'm starting to think there is a sliver of a chance that Tiny will be removed.
We don't know everything that Bolton knows. It's quite possible that Bolton could shed light on other crimes. And it's VERY possible that those other crimes exist.

Remarkably ignorant comment.
And while maybe we can do do so much better than Biden we can certainly A LOT and have Trump serving a second term, a term when he can likely appoint RBG replacement to the Supreme Court. A Trump who doesn’t need to worry about re-election or how many children he puts in cages.
I gave push back to Agip's anti-progressive candidate comment: "asking them to vote to raise their taxes and outlaw their health insurance and welcome in all the woke PC issues the Dem left represents"
If Warren or Sanders becomes the nominee, a comment like that will exactly be a Republican talking point.
And those comments will be used to re-elect Trump.
So I advise people that prefer a certain Democrat nominee, to do so by explaining the virtues of their candidate, not by tearing down a Democrat opposition who may wind up being the nominee.
I have an issue with Biden being old. That's not a revelation that would change things.
I'm liberal but would prefer Biden over Bernie, who is even older.
But if Bernie happens to get the nomination we have to rally around him and not sulk because you wanted someone else.
And that really goes double for Bernie fans, who do seem a little cult-like, and I fear may disrupt the convention if he lost as a close second.

I said very early in the thread that if a few key Republicans stop giving support, the whole dam could break.
The Republican power is in their unity.
Every Republican House member and Senator has voted against every check on Trump so far.
Trump's whole defense is that it is a Democrat witch hunt. Purely partisan.
Any Republican that has spoken out is gone.
Jeff Flake resigned.
Bob Corker Resigned.
Justin Amash left the party.
Fox News has remained pro Trump (for the most part).
Lisa Murkowski did vote against Kavanaugh. But Susan Collins vote pretty much saved him.
If four Republican senators make a stand and loudly speak out that Trump is guilty of these crimes, the partisan witch hunt theory cannot stand.
Now, that doesn't mean 16 more Republicans will go along to convict, but it severely hurts Trump in the election and hurts that Republican solidarity. It would give cover to others who may want to convict Trump.
Agree!

Republican senators up for re-election know they can not win without Tiny's base. So what will it take for the dam to actually break?
The best hope for the Republicans is to execute the cover-up and hope for the best. But they need to know what they are covering. They need to see Bolton's book and more importantly, they need to see Bolton's notes and hear his testimony before they decide what to do.
Also, Bolton should be very concerned about his personal safety.

So funny that Bolton was one of the most reviled of all Republicans by the left but now, that he might have damning testimony of Trump, is now being revered by the left even so much that those on the left are worried about his "personal safety." Too funny!
For years, Democrats almost to a person have depicted the former national security adviser and arch-conservative as practically unhinged. Now, by contrast, Democrats consider him a solid and stable foundation upon which to rest their case for the president’s conviction in his ongoing impeachment trial.
John Bolton is a lunatic.
Trump doesn't really hire the best.
Michael Cohen was a shady character that Trump hired.
Yeah, Trump's hirings come back to haunt him.
It doesn't mean Democrats like these people.
Bolton wouldn't testify for the House because he hates Democrats and didn't want to help them.
Right now, I think he wants to help Republicans. Getting rid of Trump would be a help to the Republican party.

Yet another argument for term limits (which will never happen)
If Congressmen weren't eternally campaigning for re-election, they may actually vote their conscious sometimes.
That goes for both sides.
Good piece on why nominating bernie is suicide.
it cites the failure of hard left candidates in 2018 vs. the huge success of moderate dems
the massive failure of Corbyn in the UK
The fact that people are quite pleased with the economy so running against it is foolish
The fact that no serious right winger has ever run against Bernie so he is compeltely untested. bernie's palling around with actual communists and his long role as apologist for genocidal communist nations will be an ah talking point. It never has been, and Biden won't do it.
bernie is a deathwish for the Dem party. I'll keep saying that. The primary system is f'd up and rewards extremists beause they show up and the moderates don't But in the general that changes. It's our role as politically aware people to push back against the failings of the primary system and vote in the primary for the guy who will most likely win in November.

Anyone voting democrat is far from the Truth!!!!
Democrats are abortion lovers. That is evil.

That seems a bit sexist.
People should vote for the person that they want to see in office.
I'm not voting for Bernie in the primary.
He's about 6th on my list of the top 7 or so candidates.
But if he gets the nomination, I'm voting for Bernie in the fall and I will praise his positive attributes. And I am not going to snipe at him now. He is a positive activist.

I don't have issues with any point you are making. We happen to differ on politics at some level and would like different candidates.
We both don't want Trump re-elected. And we both would prefer that Bernie not get the Democrat nomination, but for different reasons.
