Scott Beattie and Rory Leonard of Team Makou crushed the field at Liverpool Cross today. Little known YouTuber Ed Buck was also in the top 10-15. Some might say they got lucky considering Nick Bester didn’t turn up, but you can only beat what’s in front of you so fair play.

I agree with that. He just has that "fake natty" bodybuilder type of vibe, just focused on running.

Today I found out Rory Linkletter had a podcast. Here's link to his podcast featuring RTJ. For Jake fans there's not a lot of things we didn't know already, but it's still cool to listen to him talking with Rory.

Fair play to Rory to get a better runner than himself on the podcast. So often with these good runners they tend to prefer to chat to rubbish runners to make the listeners seem more impressed by them.
Was also interesting to see his recent training camp where he got to train with Phily Bowden as her coach also kindly agreed to help him out whilst out there with Ms Bowden. Did think the two of them would make a good pair to do a podcast as seemed to have a natural banter and obviously both well know influencers so would draw in the listeners.
Shame that hasn’t happened yet. Come on Philly and Rory, give us all what we want! Link has a bow, so I think name the pod along those lines.

My main bugbear with Allie O is that she's been doing the youtube thing for years and she still hasn't figured out how to look at the lens and not the viewfinder when filming. Which is disconcerting to watch at the best of times (what's over my shoulder that you gotta look at?!?!?) but triple so whenever she's got the athlete special himself in shot, because he knows to look at the lens.

Wonderful, insightful new video from Fordy Runs. Again he is targeting an autumn marathon and this Spring block is a "stepping stone" - the dude hasn't many blocks left, you think he'd be going all out.
The, apparently, qualified coach seems to confuse LT1 and LT2 a few times as well. He says the marathon is mostly ran at aerobic threshold (LT1) so this next block he'll be working on this by running long tempos at 85% to 90% of his and HR (LT2).
People pay this man for coaching?

I see that Nicky had a fall in Ethiopia during his race. No doubt a Matt Fox supporter trying to sabotage his sub 2.10 Valencia attempt. If anybody gets any updates on Nicks fitness after this accident then please post them on here because I’m sick with worry

Isn't this a bit close to race day for altitude training? As usual people like Bester and Felton hear about Double Threshold or Altitude Training and go all in without a clue how it works

It takes at least 3 weeks to see any benefit, training at altitude is more stressful than training at sea level so not great for a taper. I can't see the timing of this trip being optimal for a breakthrough performance for him.
