Why are witnesses even needed for the Senate trial? Pelosi, Schiff and others have repeatedly claimed that the evidence that Trump committed impeachable crimes was overwhelming. Also, that his expeditious removal is urgent. Witnesses would just slow down the process. Trump needs to be removed from office IMMEDIATELY so he can no longer do damage to the country. Again, the House had months to get whatever evidence was needed. The evidence that Trump committed impeachable crimes is overwhelming. No further witnesses or testimony is necessary. All the hay is in the barn. Just convict and remove the MOFO.

Refusing to allow staffers to testify, and now bragging that he has the "materials" and the Democrats don't. Means he's guilty. You know it. Has nothing to do with Executive privilege, because you can't invoke that to hide crimes.

The House was in a no-win zone. Impeach him on the evidence easily gotten at hand and at least have him branded for life with that (that was the right call), or battle in the courts to try to get the most potentially damning witnesses to testify and run out of time as Trump's term has less than a year left now, and the election is even closer.

Do you know how big of a "f*ck you" Trump could wield on Democrats if he would have cooperated fully and provided everything they wanted if it all did indeed show he was innocent? He keeps saying it is a hoax, but he had the best possible way to prove that -- give them all the docs...let all the witnesses testify. But, NOPE! And why not? Because he is guilty as hell, witnesses would only verify that, and he know it and as stupid as you are, you know it too.

Yes, the evidence is overwhelming but your case can never be too good and high level witness that earlier refused to testify would help.

As for the months to gather evidence, one of the charges is obstruction of congress, so you can figure out why that is bad.

Our national interest is to reelect President Trump and keep America great. Russians or Chinese have nothing to do with it. American people will vote overwhelmingly for President Trump, because they love America. The only way he could "lose" is if Democratic governors in swing states rigged the election. That's the only "election interference" we should be concerned about.

Collins is toast. She got votes because people believed she was a moderate. She is instead a hardcore right-winger. The only people hate more in Maine than someone who cannot see both sides of an issue, is a liar like Collins.

Is that because election rigging by Republican governors in swing states is the only rigging that is acceptable.

I'm not sure why every state hasn't adopted mail-in ballots. Actually having to go to a polling location and stand in line is ridiculous and disenfranchises millions of voters. I've never understood how anyone of any political party can support making it difficult to vote.

Because requiring people to show up prevents poor people from showing up. Driving to vote costs money that would be better spent on food. And poor people tend to vote Democratic. The result is that the Republican vote counts more in states that require people to show up at the polls.
