- ongoing debate about the ethics of banditing/bib swapping for big races. Detective Robby catches a nike influencer/coach in the act. Says he “understands” but still just wants the guy to fess up to he sins
- Thomas is chuffed that bitr wasn’t mentioned in the nycm weekend highlights video. The gang concludes this must be because their shakeout was so big they don’t need the coverage
- Thomas talks sh-t about the state of Maine
- the gang talks sh-t about another shoe they think is good performance wise but the aesthetic again is just not up to their standards. They conclude that when they meet the designer of the shoe at TRE, the designer will be wearing clothes that “make sense” for why the shoe is so ugly
- Robby and Thomas spend the last fifteen minutes sh—tting all over local Baltimore, and notoriously struggling, athletic brand under armour. According to Thomas the best ad they’ve had in recent years is a thirty second clip of Robby saying that Baltimore is a good running city because it’s “gritty” and running requires “grit”
- the above discussion devolves into Robby and Thomas sh-tting all over brands in general, including hoka, which is sponsoring their upcoming dnf’s/walking finishes at jfk 50
- meg and karl are silent for the majority of the podcast, either bored or in awe of the stupidity of Thomas and Robby’s ranting
Can we have less of the chat about what I presume are American YouTubers. Never heard of these people you mention and whenever anyone talks about unknown Americans the thread comes to a grinding halt. Floberg apart, none of them are interesting.
Lets just stick to the vast array of wonderful, wacky and in some cases wa**erish British influencers.
Now what we were saying about Ben, Nick and filmMyrun?
This is an American website. This thread was started by an American, about Americans. Instagram and YouTube, the prime vehicles for influencers, were started by Americans. We kicked your asses in the revolutionary war and bailed you out in ww2. Our runfluencers, like all of our cultural products, are sh-tier, better, and more interesting than yours. Kindly go f-ck yourself along with your monarchy

My dear fellow,
I say this with all the gentle grace we Britons are naturally known for: your last message was rather… shall we say, enthusiastically uncultivated.
We on this side of the Atlantic do prefer our discourse with a touch more polish and considerably less bellow.
Do take it in good humour, after all, we Brits have made an art of civility, and it would be a shame not to encourage its appreciation elsewhere.
That other poster was quite right though. American YouTubers do seem rather uncouth and simple compared to the wonderful array of Brits such as Phily, Bester, Felton, MARM, Crown, Jake RTJ, Brooms, FOD

The OG goat king shoetuber is Seth DeMoor, who lives in a giant house in the middle of the country with a giant brood of kids, and drives a giant SUV to run up giant mountains bigger than than any in the UK and Europe in general, is as American as it gets. I rest my case.
He’s a knob, you have to be him or a family member trying to get traffic to his page.
First off, to give him his due he's got decent times over the shorter distances.
But jfc, he currently said he has a stress reaction in his tibia and that on the advice of a physio, if you can believe it, he is managing this by "only" running 10k every other day.
If an actual physio advised this, which I have severe doubts about, they should be struck off. Honestly they probably should be locked up.
This is completely insane, watching a car crash in slow motion here.
Yeah agree no physio said that, maybe he has mild shin splits but stress reaction sounds cooler. Kinda like the Goggins claim he duct taped broken legs and ran on them… can’t with these idiots.

Unless he’s had time off but straight from symptoms to 10ks no offloading at all is just a bit much even for a tibia

How does neither the bus driver nor the accountant make this list of wonderful British YouTubers?
These pro Bester trolls are actually ruining this thread now. It will soon die a death (which is probably what Bester wants)
Actually think its the anti-Bester trolls who are ruining it. Bester isn't that interesting to talk about here because he's a good runner who trains well and an OK youtuber. This is a thread to snark on the youtube runners who train ridiculously, think they are better runners than they are so get injured and give poor advice. Or ones who are peak cringe in their videos 9which Bester occasionally is but there is way worse). Or just shill every product under the sun like Benisrunning
The anti Bester trolls keep rising to the obvious bait comments which keep adding fuel to the comments and so they continue. If you just ignored them they would probably lessen. They also don't recognise clear sarcasm. Which seems to be more an issue with the American users here.
Seems to confuse them even more than Ashes chat. Great comeback from the poms on day 1 btw. Feast on that P Luttrell ;)
You've done me!
But also, and you're gonna hate this, but I'm one of the rare Australians that couldn't care less about cricket. I'd sooner watch paint dry.
I'm obsessed with football though ("soccer", as w*nkers call it).

Matt, the bus driver, is clearly on some sort of juice. 3 super heavy workouts a week and running nothing slower than 4:20 per km on his "easy" days?
Even YouTubers face ups and downs while creating content, but amidst all the trials, celebrating small joys like birthdays keeps the spirit alive. Sending Birthday Wishes for Friends to fellow creators or supporters can strengthen bonds and remind us that personal connections matter, even in a digital world. Small gestures like these make the challenges more worthwhile.
I see Bester is living his best live in Ethiopia, what a treat for us. Fantastic content. Even the great Haile Gebrselassie wanted to meet Nick for a photo.
I was staying at this budget hotel after a local 10K, legs trashed, with a sad gas-station Mars bar in it. I get into the elevator, hit my floor, doors start closing—and suddenly a hand slides in, stopping them.
In steps Sirpoc. THE Sirpoc.
The man who once claimed you could PR off nothing but threshold singles, beer, and “a Mars bar strategically deployed at mile 7."
He’s wearing split shorts, a windbreaker, and holding a half-finished pint like that’s just a normal travel accessory. The elevator doors close. It’s just us.
I give him the polite runner-nod. He returns it with the kind of solemnity usually reserved for other NSAers. We rise one floor in silence. Then he sniffs the air slightly, eyes my bag, and says:
“You carrying a Mars bar or just thinking about one?”
I freeze. “Uh… yeah, actually.”
He nods like he expected that.
“You can always tell when there’s a Mars bar,” he murmurs. “They have a gravitational pull. Like SubT runs.”
Two more floors pass. I try small talk. “So, uh… you still doing the Norwegian Singles Method?”
He turns to me very slowly. “Doing? No. Being.”
I do not know what that means.
He takes a sip from his pint, wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, and says: “You ever notice how training plans have ‘phases’? Base phase, threshold phase, sharpening phase…”
He leans closer. “But norwegian singles? Norwegian singles are eternal.”
The elevator dings. His floor. He steps out, pauses in the doorway, and points at my Mars bar bag like it’s a sacred object.
“Eat that at exactly 8:13 p.m.,” he says. “Then go for a SubT run. Don’t ask why.”
He walks off down the hallway, pint still in hand, like an oracle who just delivered prophecy and now has somewhere important to be—probably a pub.
I stood there alone as the doors closed, wondering if I’d just met a genius, a madman, or the patron saint of slightly-undertrained runners everywhere.

Yeah.. let’s ignore the Ashes. At least until test 2.
Heard a few tubers talk about their footie team. Famously scouse Nick Bester is a Liverpool fan, an absolutely dastardly club. A rare L that for Nick.
RanToJapan is a Gooner. Hopefully he fares better in Europe with Valencia marathon than Arsenal historically have.
Full send parkrunner Max from South England always bangs on about Liverpool too.
FOD I reckon definitely supports a hipster club. Probably his local team who are in the depths of non league.
Brooms have Barnsley written all over them. Leeds an outside bet.
Tim Grose strikes me as Spurs
MARM I’m guessing Villa.
BenIsRunning changes depending on who gives him discount codes for his channel. Maybe he will get his channel name splashed on the front of Leyton Orients shirt.
Not seen any profess their love for either of the Manchester behomeths. Surprised City haven’t got Ben on board as they need all the help they can get to fill their stadium. It’s always nice when City win something as a win for them is a win for nobody as not a soul in England counts anything they win.
Seth gotta be ManUtd. Used to be big and winning stuff. Now irrelevant. Maybe a mini comeback will occur for him too.
Chelsea must have a few obnoxious YouTubers in their thrall too

This is an American website. Please covert this rubbish in NFL terms.
Cole supports Leeds. MARM is definitely Villa. Ben Is Running is a Colchester fan. Sirpoc Pompey? Alex Yee supports Palace. Callum Elson was a non-league footballer and I believe is also a Leeds United fan.
