All things important right now point to a Democrat winning in November. The biggest problem for Democrats of course is that Trump has cheated again, and with cheating, you never really can be sure of the outcome. Trump will have a hard time winning MI, PA, and WI. Ohio is even leaning toward Biden if he gets the nomination. If all that happens, it is big time over. I have heard several times that Iowa might go blue, but all polling I have seen says Trump wins Iowa. Florida is a tossup.

He seems to think the Bidens are on trial and that with his affidavits and charts he'd prove the Biden corruption and justify Trump's "investigation" of Biden. The questions, of course, would focus on his conversations with Trump, the attempts to have Yovanovitch fired and the requests made of Zelensky. He'd lie about Trump and try to twist every response into an attack on Biden:

Correct, Democrats do not fall asleep behind the wheel again this time.

Given the strong support for trump despite his blatant corruption it is not a bad bet to make that enough Americans will just look the other way on this issue.

Without a doubt we want to go up against Bernie Sanders. The guy looks like Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) in Back to the future but even nuttier. Ditto Eliz Warren. Her "ideas" are never going to fly in middle America. Mayor Pete has his problem with the Blacks but he could always "catch fire" and become very electable. Biden is the one we most fear as the moderates who can't stand Trump will flee to him.

This is all a very simplistic strategy for causing turmoil in the left. It’s always about distractions. Luckily there will be nothing as important and newsworthy as watching GOPers trying to defend trump without any substantive arguments. Some new tools Dems can use:

- point to the fact that the GOP has hidden away Nunes during the trial. Repeat a million times over that he was scheming with Parnas

- repeat a million times that trump had the former ambassador effectively harassed and scared for her safety

- point to Rudy (trump) STILL trying so hard, unsuccessfully, to get dirt on Biden

- pound the table on bringing witnesses. Bolton pretty much wants to testify. Parnas has already made the tv rounds and obviously they should want to hear from him

Flagpole, what do you mean with "all things important right now point to a Dem winning in November?" The unemployment rate is at 50-year lows, all 3 of the stock market indices are at all-time highs, we are not at war with anyone, and many other things. Don't Dems find those things important? What are the important things that you refer to pointing to a Dem massacre in November?

The Dersh seems to be getting a little jittery about his role defending trump. It is very telling he had to convince his wife to play any role in this and he’s been very carefully framing the extent of his involvement. He’s saying he’s going to argue why this impeachment is invalid to begin with, not going to get into any actual substantive defense.

The real issue is that all of those states get 2 senators. The same as California and Texas.

And senate votes determine this impeachment trial.
